I keep getting views on a page titled as co.lumb showing up on my google analytics, does anyone know what this means? I don’t have any items titled like that, and a did a google search but nothing came up. It’s happened a few times over the past week.
I noticed that on mine too - wasn’t sure what it could be, but the user was in Moscow. Not sure if that’s relevant, but it might be interesting to know whether yours is the same.
Mine is in Russia too - they’re viewing right now! But it’s weird that the page title they’re apparently viewing is the co.lumb - nothing like that exists in my shop (or yours I imagine)
I had a view the other day that came from something like forum.2775950673 and when I googled it it was some spammy thing from Russia.
I found this on google - it seems to be happening to lots of sites, and sounds like some kind of spammimg thing. It gets too technical for me to understand but someone might. @dougfolksy?

I have no idea what any of that means - far too techy! Glad it’s not just us that it’s affecting though, although by the sounds of it, it’s not actaully doing any harm.
I had noticed the same recently, my analytics shows 12 visits from russia today all of which viewed page / hubby assures me is nothing to worry about abs just to ignore those when I look at my stats
I’m glad it’s not doing anything nasty, it’s just a bit irritating - I’ve had 30 visitors to my page so far today and 17 of them have been from Russia!
Interesting that! Yes the only hits I have had on google analytics is Russia. Should I be worrried?? Bit disconcerting, but also intriguing…
This has now got to the stage where the dodgy views from Russia are accounting for the majority of my views! Bit depressing really!
I have had exactly the same problem - Moscow popping up on an almost daily basis and also apparently viewing a page called co.lumb which does not exist in my shop. So I’m glad to know I’m not the only one. On the subject of Analytics, does anyone understand the meaning of ‘not set’ and why it seems to be located somewhere off the west coast of Africa?
I don’t know why ‘not set’ would be showing up as Africa - on mine it says ‘requested map does not exist’. It only accounts for one of my views for the whole of the last month though so I’m not too concerned. The Russia thing is bugging me more, it has got really bad over the last week and I’m having up to 20 views a day from them!
Mine was showing ilovevitaly as the referral source so I googled it and found this …

I can’t say I understand the blocking solution myself but I suspect it might be one of Folksy admin?

Patricia,
‘not set’ probably defaults to 0,0 degrees latitude and longitude, which is in the Gulf of Guinea, off the west coast of Africa.

Reading that article would seem to explain that it’s the same person running the show as the ones coming fom co.lomb and econom.co then. That’s about all I understand about it though!
I started noticing this same sort of thing about 2 weeks ago on my GA. It’s set up for information on my Folksy shop & my website- both things are showing a lot of ‘views’ from Russia through a load of spamming websites…I’m rubbish at that sort of thing and have no idea how to stop it. But at the same time- I’m not sure what it achieves?!
Hi Claire
I would say the same of my website, not sure how dodgy they are, but are purely made up of Moscowites. What is going on??
