Cost of shipping a stretched canvas to the U.S?

I have just read what the post office says online

https://www.postoffice.co.uk/mail/international-economy

I really want to offer the option to send to the US!

Just not sure if the above prices are the right delivery options, or if im looking at the right thing or not. Maybe anyone who has sent some parcels could help me out hah?

I have a small canvas that weights just over 250 grams, it says it would cost about £3.85 to send internationally for a parcel that weight. i just thought it wold be more expensive? obviously it would be heavier when packaged!

thank you!

I send parcels to the US on a fairly regular basis (from another online shop). It depends on the size and value of your item, so check the size and weight of your item packaged up. If an item is over £20 value, the costs increase. I normally send item over £20 in value with a tracked service which further increases the cost significantly. I always use Royal Mail, but I know some other UK sellers use courier services.

I would overestimate rather than underestimate- there’s nothing worse than losing part of your profit to paying the extra postage! And if your customer wants your painting enough, they’ll pay

ah thank you very much for the replies guys! much appreciated <3

Hi Dan. I think you may be looking at the economy service which can take ages and ages to be delivered (At least a month) My advice would be to look at RM’s International standard airmail if the item is worth £20, or International tracked/signed airmail if the item is worth over £20. ahhh! this makes much more sense!

thank you very much!

You’re very welcome. If your item is very heavy/large you could have a look on one of the price comparison sites like parcels2go. I would recommend choosing one of the more well known couriers
