Hello! I have opened my shop for about a month and a half now. I made 4 sales until now. I would be really grateful for some genuine feedback about my shop items and comments about any improvement needed.

Hi Zarna,
First of all well done if you have only been open a month and a half and had four sales already- I signed up with Folksy in September and it took me until late November to get to sale number 2!
I have had a look at your shop and there are some lovely pieces in there- I must confess I didn’t do a thorough look, though I picked one random item , the heart trinket dish and one of the bits of feedback that keeps coming up is the tags makers choose to use, so I’m going to say the same- I think we are allowed to use 13 tags for each item- definitely try to use the full 13 (why not!) but if I am being very honest, if I was searching for a heart trinket dish, I would be entering ‘hear’ first off, followed by ‘dish’ ‘clay dish’ ‘hear dishes’ very basic and I understand plurals make a difference too, so ‘heart’ and ‘hearts’ but more importanstly using phrases like, ’ valentines gift/s’, ‘gifts for her’ etc- make sense, hopefully yes!
I say all of this safe in the knowledge, we are all tweaking, learning as we go and there are many who have experience of Folksy beyond my few months- so hang around the forums, participate and hear what others have to say- there really is a wealth of experience on here and everyone is super friendly!
Hopefully I have offered you something helpful

Your items are delightful. But your photos are a little dull. By that I mean the lighting could be brighter or find someone who’ll pass them through Photoshop or Lightroom to enhance them and brighten them up a bit to make them more dynamic. The photos have a flat quality that does nothing for your work.
I hope you don’t mind but I’ve taken one of your photos and done this with it. Got rid of the ugly line at the back that detracts from your bowl, and brightened it a touch. Now, the eye is drawn only to the bowl and not the background.
Hi Annie,
Thank you so much for the tips about the tags. This is really helpful
Hello ,
Thank you for the genuine feedback about the photos. I indeed realised that the photos look dull and it is completely okay that you highlighted it with the example. I really appreciate it. The difference is clearly visible and I need to work on the photo editing.
What gorgeous products. My only comment would be to get a brighter white background. I use two bits of heavy duty white cardboard. One for background one for placing items on. Hope that helps. Katie
Hello Katie,
Thank you for your feedback. This is a great tip for improving the quality of the background of my products photos. Really helpful
