I am staying open. I cycle to my post office, my outdoor gym, and as long as the postal service still operates, I will still use them. Mindful however that our posties are also concerned about the virus.
I am also sure that all our lovely customers will fully understand and support us if we cannot post their purchases instantly, as long as we keep them informed.
Stay safe everyone.
And as I am quite sure there will be a poster somewhere saying… Stay calm and keep crafting!

How good of your neighbour Lynn.
I am staying open as long as I am able to. Most of my cards can go large letter and I have quite a few stamps at home. I am also offering to post my cards direct to the recipient for those who are unable to go out to the Post Office. I have bulk updated my postage to UK only and will probably update my listings to dispatch within 3 days rather than 1 currently.
Thanks for your comments all !
I’m actually getting lots of enquiries and some orders and customers don’t seem to mind waiting ( we are locking down for 14 days as hubby has a temp and son is just back from Uni ) .
So I’m going to stay open on here and E*** but taking down my auction listings later
I’ve updated all my shop info ’ to state postage times will be much extended and subject to delays - so instead of within 3 day it’ll be up to 3 weeks.
If Royal Mail ask us to restrict non critical deliveries I will shut.of course!
I’m keeping my shop open - like many people I use online postage and take packages to the delivery office who have their own ‘social distancing’ in force. I work as a receptionist at a local clinic which has closed for the foreseeable future today - so I guess I have more time for crafting anyway!
I’m staying open but will shut up shop if or when I feel unwell. I’m more or less a hermit anyway. My last dressmaking client collected her dress and jacket this morning, so that’s me and the cat alone for the foreseeable future, whilst my husband is at his work (self employed gardener, so he can easily keep his distance and just pootle about doing clearances etc as usual). Luckily I have a massive fabric stash and the aforementioned very demanding 19 year old cat to keep me busy.
I’ll be closing mine for a week as I’ve got to go to Hospital for an operation on the 23rd. Mind you it won’t make much difference as I’ve only sold 2 things so far hahaha!
I’m open, because I have 2 post offices within walking distance and have my shipping times set to 7 days (visiting PO twice a week, with some items small enough to pop in the post box). I implemented the 7 day/twice weekly rule in June time I think, and it seems to be working. If I have to isolate, I’ll contact the buyer and offer to cancel and refund or ask if they’re willing to wait until I can go out again.
I’m hesitant to close because business is good - I think people are coming online because the shops are closed, and I’d like to ride the wave as long as it’s safe to run the business.
I would only close my shop if i got sick the post office is still open and im still at work fulltime so i realy dont see the point in shuting if there is nothing wrong all i would be doing is lossing money and i feel like i have lossed enough money between no wedding season and no physacall craft fairs
I’m not closing, I’m only a five minute walk from my local RM depot so it’s very easy for me to drop my orders there.
