I looked at this one but didn’t think I fitted their criteria (like a lot of others I thought it was aimed at proper artists rather than crafters), will have to check again when mine is due
I’m not sure that using Craftjuice would meet with a-n’s criteria for membership as we post our own work on to it. However if your work features in someone else’s blog or pinterest board that probably would count as it has undergone editorial review. The rather washy final statement about having an item purchased for a public or private collection is a catch all one that I think we can all say we have met. I like to think that all the pictures, ceramics, glass and jewellery I’ve purchased over the years is my private collection and that any jewellery bought from me (especially the commissions) has disappeared into someone else’s private collection. This might be more difficult to argue for the people who make disposable items eg soap or cards but their are collectors of these items as well.
One thing to note with the a-n cover is that there is no stock cover so if your work is damaged/ stolen whilst at a craft fair there is no compensation, it is only public and product liability cover (or at least that is my understanding from reading the policy document).
They expect us to be honest with what we do. I have contacted them before and they just tell me to read the critea …in fact I was so convinced I didn’t that I asked for a refund as I had purchased it. I hadn’t done any pop up shops, the only thing I was ok with was fund raising event and the dd fair.
