Creating a banner

Okay, it’s time for me to create a fb business account… I’ll need a banner and I need to create one for folksy too. As this whole experience is new to me any tips on what makes a good banner? How to create one? Using canva? I feel like I’m constantly asking for help on here and it’s knocking my confidence a little, how naive was I thinking that I could just sew create and sell? Any tips welcome :folded_hands:

I just used a photo I took myself on my phone. I am happy with the result, but others may disagree!! But, as you know from my other posts, I am not techy at all. I think many people do use Canva. Like you I just want to design and create, not have to learn skills that I have no interest in! Sometimes we have to though, just to exist in the online selling world.

I did the same (used a photo I had taken myself) and cropped it till it fit the dimensions! I’ve had it for years now and if I had to change it, I think I would struggle a bit too!

When you made your own banner could you use it on your fb account and other social media? Might sound like a daft question but it’s all new to me :joy:

Deborah, did you find it easy to use canva? Something I’ll have to play with as I’ve never used it

Hi Jill @artisanhatscraftsstudio I used same design for folksy just change the measurements for Facebook then download. Just alter the measurements for wherever you want a banner, any questions just ask

I love Canva and only have the free version with no AI features enabled, if you search ‘how to make a make a Facebook banner in Canva’ there will be YouTube video tutorials you can follow, but you can also just play around in Canva too.

I had a photo on my camera roll and I cropped it down and it worked so that’s my suggestion.

Keep asking, people will always help, end of the day we’re all wanting the same result by having a shop here. I prefer to lift others up and help them shine :cherry_blossom:

Jill it looks like your Facebook link on your page is not working I just tried it

Melanie, yes I know… I’m still sorting out a business account page… never having used social media before it’s something I keep putting off..hence the enquiries into making a banner. I’m trying to make it this week’s project amongst many other things…the truth be known I’m finding it all a bit scary as it’s completely out of my comfort zone :joy: I’ll get there, just joining folksy was a massive step for me. I’m slowly gaining confidence though

Ahh ok Sorry Jill. I know I’m the same with some things, I still have to ask my adult kids! But once you’ve done it then it all starts clicking into place :cherry_blossom:
