Crude, vile and disgusting listings

Is it me being a prude? Have others found some listings that have a very adult theme? One in particular I found very embarrassing and reported it. I don’t mind a rude joke but some of these items I have seen have been downright disgusting particularly from one new seller.

I did see something yesterday which I thought this does not fit in with what is expected on Folksy

I know which one you mean, as I saw it the other day and thought woah! That’s a bit unnecessary!

I’m not sure if it really contravenes any Folksy rules though. Difficult one.

Glad to see it’s not just me that finds some items unsuitable for Folksy.

Report it anyway if you aren’t happy. If it popped up on the front page, does it detract from the Folksy brand? If so, I think admin wil be interested. This is probably the relevant clause… “Items which are deemed to be pornographic or of an “adult nature” (interpretation of which is determined by Folksy) are prohibited.”

PS May be the ones I have already reported… but the more objections the merrier in my opinion.

I havent seen the items you are referring to but I don’t like to see items with the type of text I suspect you are referring to. I often feel like a bit of a prude too so its nice to know I’m not alone! I just find it so unnecessary.

I saw some just yesterday, and I’m not convinced they’re handmade, either… not sure whether to report it or not though?

I have reported the items because I found them revolting and these items didn’t have text. I know some people like the items with crude text but I cannot understand why the sellers cannot keep that type of thing as a custom order!

Yes, I don’t know why they don’t keep that type of thing as a custom order.

If you’re not sure, I’d go ahead and report. If Folksy haven’t spotted it and it does contravene rules, then you’ve done the right thing. If it doesn’t break rules, there’s no harm done.

Thanks for your reply. I am going to report them.

I’m really curious to see them now! I have a few cards that contain some ‘french’ words shall we say :flushed:

Yours will be fine, most of us don’t mind the odd ‘French’ word  (& at least you’ve made an effort to blur them out) but we definitely mind stuff that very obviously isn’t handmade or even from the person’s own design. I personally really like your work

Thanks  I’ll keep my eyes peeled for this ‘flith’

It wasn’t your cards and the items I saw that I reported were not cards.

I haven’t been around for a couple of days, so haven’t seen anything, but there was an item a couple of weeks ago that I found upsetting and lots of us reported it. The shop was removed, but so much damage could be done in the short time these items are available here. I always ask myself, if I was browsing at a craft fair, would I be happy with this item displayed for all to see? If the answer is NO then I don’t think it should be here on Folksy.

I just listed a new item and then saw it on the front page right next to something that I find very offensive. My products are for little children and I don’t really want to see them next to offensive products. I don’t think things like this should be allowed on Folksy.

That’s a real shame Martine. There’s so many beautiful things here on Folksy and everyone should be able to look at them and enjoy without it all being spoilt. I almost closed my shop a couple of weeks ago over such things, but I imagine that other sites could be a whole lot worse, most of the time Folksy is a wonderful place and we all have to be vigilant to keep it that way.

Looks like the item (and shop) I reported has gone!

New shop with products covered in swear words. If I refuse to say it, I don’t want to see it on here. Wouldn’t want the products on the front page either. Why do people think it’s ok?
