# [Daily Listing Challenge and Group Promotion Thread August 2024

I had no idea that the app allowed you to do this and they also bring a label if you don’t have a printer. Our local Post Office has just closed and it’s caused no end of stress. This is brilliant! Thanks so much, Carole!

Hi all, Happy August, first time here this month, I was working hard on stock for Art in the Park in Leamington Spa last weekend and it’s taken me a couple of days to recover! It was full on, but well worth it… over 50k visitors and I have very little stock remaining! Better get making.

Please put me down for 2 orders so far @Fififoxi and today is a relist from me.

@TownAbout …the postal collection is excellent. I cannot get to the post office and I have used the collection several times. I DO have a printer but always worry that it won’t print and then I won’t know what to do, so I ALWAYS click for them to bring the label with them…it is a brilliant service and easy to do… find it on the royal mail site…( sorry not allowed to put links on here but it is something like royalmail collect a parcel… google it. I just looked and it says royal mail book a parcel collection…xx

I just found the app and downloaded it. I don’t have a printer, so this is a total lifesaver. Thank you!

Anna @Fififoxi I am very pleased to report a new sale today from another Daily Listing Challenger - I did a Lindy Hop all the way to the post box.

Afternoon all,
Pooches are fast asleep after two long walks today :paw_prints: thankfully it is a pleasant temperature for them - and me - today.
A strange business, @PatchworkPackages. My sales automatically go to Royal Mail click and drop, and I too use their collection service. Promised I wouldn’t, but the PO nearest me closed, the next one is a 50 minute round trip, and collection is free!
Congratulations to your daughter and future son @SueTrevor :tada: :champagne: :ring:
Glad to hear your event was a success @malloryjournals, and welcome back.

Saves the cost of the label both printing and buying labels.

I use click and drop too, it saves me going up or down the road! I think parcels actually reach there destination quicker too! Shame I still have a sheet of stamps to use up, but I will gradually.

I swore I wouldn’t use click and drop/collect, as I want to keep our post office going, but was recently car-less for 6 weeks and have got used to using it. It is also considerably cheaper than buying stamps. 50p cheaper to buy special delivery from RM online.
I’m sure once lots of post offices have closed they will reintroduce the collection fee. But for now it is great. I too have sheets of stamps, but as they don’t have a price on they should stay valid (unless they suddenly tell us stamps with the queen on are being phased out, like they did with non barcoded stamps.

evening all, 3 sales for the tally please Anna @Fififoxi :dancer:

Congratulations Sue @SueTrevor are you planning to make a fabulous hat to wear or a bag for the wedding?

I have heard of the paypal scam with false address testing a cloned card, definitely don’t refund as if at some point in the future it’s identified as a rogue card they will automatically claim the money back I believe Elizabeth @PatchworkPackages. Speaking of paypal I had a message from Folksy saying someone was having difficulty paying via paypal, checked my account and it all looks fine and today’s sale was Paypal and that went through fine so maybe it’s a rogue buyer or a blip.

Ooooh, I hadn’t even got that far in my thinking! I made a fascinater and bag for my niece’s wedding so I’ll have to think about it. It’ll be an opportunity to have my nails done professionally as well :grinning:

I still have to keep sheets of stamps because if people just buy one or two cards, I cannot use parcel collection and they have to go in the local postbox.
Perhaps we should all have boxes like they do in the US…if you need something collected, you put it in the box at the edge of your property and put a little flag up to alert the postman…You don’t have to book anything, they just see the flat on their rounds , open the box and take the mail/iarcel,

Brenda @teabreaks - We were in Craigfelen, near Clydach, for a couple of years and then in Ynystawe. I went to Morriston Comprehensive.
I second using the online postage option. I always use it for parcels that will fit in the post box. It saves me a few pennies and checks the postage address at the same time.

Evening!
Far too late in the day to list anything so will in the morning but I’ve had this half written since before lunch and then we lost all internet so spent the rest of the day waiting for it to be restored so I could catch up with everything I needed to do today so leaving this comment before I forget everything I wanted to say!
Congrats on the engagement Sue @SueTrevor ,lovely news.
How rubbish for you Elizabeth @PatchworkPackages I can never understand why people need to do things like that.
Judith @judyrowleyart I’m loving your new decorations, gorgeous Christmas design.
Great to hear of your successful event Sharon @malloryjournals
Well done to everyone with sales.
I’m hoping having a few pieces in the Summer Selling Show that starts tomorrow will at the very least bring a few more viewers to my little corner of Folksy.
Phew, I think I’ve said everything I wanted to say this morning and added more!
Fingers crossed the internet doesn’t desert us overnight and see you in the morning!
