Good morning everyone.

@PatchworkPackages I would hold off refunding until someone makes contact, as you will end up completely out of pocket.
You have done all you can. Very odd scenario.
Did they pay by Stripe or PayPal?

Good morning all.

Oh my goodness Liz @PatchworkPackages, that makes no sense to me whatsoever. I wonder why someone would do that? I hope it doesn’t knock your confidence xx

Ooo Brenda @teabreaks, I can’t wait to see you new crochet makes, they’re so on trend and the moment.

I spent most of yesterday trying to sort my shop out as it’s been looking a mess, I think it looks a bit tidier but still probably needs more reshuffling.

Here’s something new for today.

Good morning all its quite overcast and cold here today, we had heavy rain earlier this morning.
Congratulations to your daughter and her new fiance Sue @SueTrevor
Glad your friend liked her earrings Mel @aquilacrafts
Looking forward to seeing your crochet creations Brenda @teabreaks
About a week ago I thought it might be a nice idea to make a beaded bag so I found a youtube video to watch and ordered my 1,900 beads and a reel of fishing line and started to make it. I think it’ll take me a few years to finish it. It is quite boring to keep doing the same thing over and over. Then when I finish it I’ve got to figure out how to make a lining and attach it. We do let ourselves in for some things don’t we?
Today I have this lapis lazuli necklace with a floral pendant and matching earrings

Brenda @teabreaks give me a few days to ensure the person is not genuine and I will release some information to the group which will help identify the ‘buyer’ without giving the name. Hopefully this has been nipped in the bud.

Yeah, I was wondering the same as Brenda @teabreaks. I remember a few months back there was a post from a folksy seller (don’t remember who though), that said about a sale to a “suspicious” or strange address, but as the order was of a small amount she was going to send the parcel and see what happened. I wonder now if it is the same person with that sale? who knows…

Morning everyone.

I had a similar experience to yours Elizabeth @PatchworkPackages but as I check the address of all of my orders on google I found out before I sent the item. In my case the street didn’t exist in the town that they gave, the county didn’t exist at all and the postcode matched none of it!

I was told that it was some kind of PayPal scam, maybe checking that they can process a payment and a refund with a small amount before they try something bigger.

I rang PayPal who told me that they has the same address as me for the buyer and were quite surprised to find out that it didn’t exist. They told me to refund the full amount and they refunded their charges and credited my account with an extra £5 for letting them know  . It might be worth ringing PayPal to see what they recommend.

I have a bee birthday card today.

Congratulations to your daughter and fiance Sue @SueTrevor.
I empathise completely Brenda @teabreaks. I have too much stock, but I can’t bear having nothing to work on. I’m going spare! I used to knit and crochet all the time, but my shoulders won’t take the weight any more, except for very tiny items. Oh the pleasures of aging!
Here’s another relist: Owl apron

Lorraine @LilacDaisy thank you for this sensible advice. The possible PayPal scam makes sense. I will give them a call.

HIlary @kokoblue and Joss @XStitcherJoss I will mostly stick to adult crochet as there isn’t much of it on here and I need to have something that will take a while to make to keep me occupied…twiddling my thumbs is SOOOO boring…there will be a few baby things as I have lots of white dk to use up.xx
@PatchworkPackages …one thing I do before posting anything is go to the royal mail site and put the post code in… and then you can check the address…so it might help …if the address didn’t exist you would find out before posting…I don’t think you can put links on here but it is the Royal Mail postcode checker…

Afternoon all

Congratulations to your daughter and her fiance, Sue @SueTrevor .

Sorry to hear about the scam sale, @PatchworkPackages , very unsettling for you, and you’ve wasted money on postage and packaging. I didn’t think to check the postcode before posting things off, but will now, when posting to a new customer.

Today is another of my new hanging decorations (only one more to go!):

Sorry about your very odd experience Elizabeth @PatchworkPackages - ‘there’s nowt so queer as folk’ as they say and nothing surprises me these days so who knows what was going on! I will take your sale off the tally and hope you get another sale very soon.

Talking of sales ‘well done Brenda @teabreaks’ - you’re an inspiration to us all - I shall update the tally accordingly. :dancer:t3: :sparkler:

Brenda @teabreaks great advice thank you.

Further to Lorraine @LilacDaisy ‘s advice I have been in contact with PayPal and they have told me to simply hold on to the items and not process a refund. If the person contacts me with a correct address (ha ha) I can send the items on.

I use the Royal Mail app to book postage and collection, it checks everything agrees when you put in the postcode.

Hello all. Still lost my get up and go so not joining in at the moment as I have limited numbers of new makes.
Daughter had her phone stolen the other night and then managed to get scammed so have been busy trying to sort that out, changing passwords, cancelling bank cards, informing appropriate people etc. Trouble is most accounts send a one off code to your phone if you try to change a password and of course she no longer has hers!! Life’s never easy. Hoping she has managed to get away with it - except for the cost of the phone (which of course she had never got insured) - a lesson learned I hope.
Hope you all have an enjoyable and prosperous August and hope I will be back with you soon.
