Sarah you need to change this angle slightly, find a drill bit or dowel that fits the diameter of the curved ear part, and straighten the bend circled so it is less angled.
Then the weight of the dangle should position the earwire better.
@dotterypottery
Ah, thank you Deborah @DeborahJonesJewellery - that makes sense. I’ll give it a try x
Thank you for including my heart decorations in your lovely white board, @thestitchyroom ! x
thank you Caroline @Caroleecrafts …much appreciated x
and Judith @judyrowleyart …
and everyone else…
it only takes a sale of one expensive item to get on the BS list…so not much hope for me…unless ( when it is finished) I sell my crochet jacket…another week and it should be done and ready to photograph and put in my shop…
.I certainly work flippin’ hard at it…x
Progress so far…the two halves are worked simultaneously and then joined at the back…then all the bands etc to do…
All I can say is Wow!!! Carrie @TheHermitsBothy … I have the toasted crumpets ready!!!
What will I do with it? - Absolutely no idea! Some of it’s earmarked for the people who own the croft where I keep them, and I’ll give a wee drop to friends, but other than that I’m going to have to eat it (fortunately I love honey!). I don’t even know where on earth I’m going to store it all. I nearly sold the bees this spring because I’ve hardly had a drop of honey and I was starting to think there wasn’t enough forage for them where they are. It’ll be interesting to see how it pans out next year, I’m guessing the farmer won’t be so good as to plant that field with flowers two years in a row! I don’t think I can sell it since I extract by straining it, so there is some wax in it. All edible, absolutely fine for my tastes, but it won’t win any prizes at the honey show!
evening all, congrats on the milestone Brenda @teabreaks
I would also get some silicone earring backs/stoppers as well to keep them secure Sarah @dotterypottery as the weight of the gingerbreads will have a tendency to pull them forward. I get mine from The Curious Gem for some reason I can’t add a link here they but they are called PVC Ear Nut
Fabulous haul Carrie @TheHermitsBothy
Evening
Busy day preparing for tomorrow’s market. I’ll pop my shop on holiday mode until it’s over. I’ve made some new bits so should have something to list later in the weekend. Thanks for the good wishes Elizabeth @PatchworkPackages
Congratulations on your incredible milestone Brenda @teabreaks
Amazing honey haul Carrie @TheHermitsBothy
Love the gingerbread men Sarah @dotterypottery
Thanks for the good
Good luck for your fair Mel @aquilacrafts
How many hives produced that much honey Carrie? Incredible haul. @TheHermitsBothy
Thanks Deborah @DeborahJonesJewellery
Wow! first off ‘congratulations’ to Sue @SueTrevor again for more sales
and a 'special congratulations to Brenda @teabreaks for her sales and the impressive milestone - 1800 sales is an amazing total.
- i’ll add the sales to the total.
That honey looks delicious Carrie @TheHermitsBothy - those bees have been very busy.
I think Deborah @DeborahJonesJewellery has got it right Sarah @dotterypottery - it’s a case of adjusting the angle. I also think its a good idea to have a little retainer on the back of hooks as Max @MaxPringJewellery suggests - I just use silver butterfly backs threaded on my hook wires as an added precaution and it does make them much more secure.
Night everyone and see you tomorrow.
Morning all.
Sky now fixed Lee is happy as has TNT sports back. Dish loose on its brackets. Cable ancient and replaced. Need to top a couple of trees as can affect the signal. Got to sort out the tree surgeon now!
Craft room today, so much to do on my ‘to do’ list, May gave to reschedule some of it.
Can you add another sale please Anna @Fififoxi
Good morning all, no plans here today it’s a go with the flow day just trying to decide what crafty stuff to get out, I feel like a change from jewellery good luck with the fair Mel @aquilacrafts and to anyone else with a fair over the bank holiday weekend. Hope you all have a nice day xx
Morning everyone,
I didn’t realise it was a bank holiday weekend, I think I got confused as my daughter said she was going away for the bank holiday and she’s going away next weekend! To Amsterdam, lucky her.
I’m going to dare to put one of my Christmas listings on here today. Although it is the sun so apt for this time of year too.
Huge congratulations Sarah @dotterypottery for being at the top of the best sellers list.
Good luck with the weekend fair Mel @aquilacrafts and anyone else out selling this weekend.
Well that’s taken me ages to catch up! We managed to get our short camping break in well before storm Lillian and enjoyed exploring East Sussex including a visit to Chartwell which was fascinating, and the gardens are amazing.
Great to hear everyone’s news. Congrats on those sales and honey making!
Here’s one I haven’t shared on here before
Morning all. Well done to those of you with amazing sales.
I’m intrigued by the shop drop, @dotterypottery . I wondered why I hadn’t seen any of your social media publicity …… I’m following you now! I’m thinking about doing something similar with the Christmas items that I’m making. Does anyone know if there’s going to be another “shop early for Christmas “ event? I can’t seem to find any Folksy dates.
Not much going on here today apart from another B&Q trip for wood and tile adhesive. We’ll finish the bath room eventually! We have a severe weather warning for rain from 6am but it hasn’t arrived yet. It’s just a bit damp.
A relist of one of my reusable bread bags today.
Good Morning All
It’s a morning of housework stuff today then I’ll start on some new paintings. Have a lovely day everyone
