Hello

A bit late on here today. Thanks for the good wishes for my father in law. Had an update this afternoon and they identified the bacteria and are now treating him. Sounds like he’s back to himself, but hasn’t got his mobility back very much. Hoping that when the antibiotics kick in he’ll improve.

Loving the chat today! And yes I’m also not having many sales either (apart from a random flurry a little while ago). You never know what people are going to like and sometimes the FB algorithm falls in your favour and lots of people see you post.

Anyway here’s my listing for the day:

Congratulations on your sales Lorraine @LilacDaisy happy dancing for you :dancer:
Brenda @teabreaks have you had a large delivery of cakes from Tesco this week and need to be extra naughty to justify eating them all?
Sarah @dotterypottery have you tried Freecycle to get rid of any unwanted items?

Alison @FluffStuffCrafts …the reason I had so many cakes is that you lot have all been far too good lately and I am getting fatter and fatter…nom nom x

Sue @SueTrevor - have a look at the app “WeBuyBooks” - they don’t like them all but really easy to use, they pick up any books they are interested in and it occasionally throws up an unexpected gem.

I did quite well selling books and cd’s to Music magpie.
Be careful on Facebook marketplace, there seem to be a lot of scammers on there recently. Your local towns Facebook group might work well though if you don’t mind people collecting.
We take un sellable things to our local recycling centre, they recycle damaged things, but re home better stuff.

So it’s been a busy day. Was on shift at the gallery this morning and then spent a couple of hours trying to finish my highland cows. Got to the stage where I couldn’t face doing any more so I now have one naked cow and seven without eyes but getting there!! Should finish them tomorrow.

No new listing again for me as I didn’t get round to doing any photos so just popping on a relist because I can!!

Now off to watch bake off as I missed it last night.

Hello beautiful doggos
(This was in reply to RosyMoon) Not at you lot dressed up in your mini skirts and fags, like fag ash Lil!

Yes, I do offer stuff on Freecycle and Freebay, Alison @FluffStuffCrafts. The things I don’t know what to do with are things like a tub of old marbles, an old solar powered calculator, furniture legs etc. Little things that no-one really wants. I keep leaving piles of stuff at the end of the garden with FREE in big letters but not that much gets taken. It’s not good enough for the charity shops (they are quite picky round here and you know they sling half of the donations out - one woman that runs the charity shop up the road from us told us that they skip a lot of things)
I’ll have to take them to the recycling centre I guess. Ours it a bit manky and has a leaky roof, so everything always looks a bit bedraggled and muddy!

Thanks for all the ideas, it’s funny Sarah @dotterypottery I think I just threw away an old solar powered calculator! I mean who needs them now we have them on our phones… and not only that you can check your numbers as you go along and alter if you’ve typed in the wrong amount whereas before you had to start all over again. And who needs cameras? Apart from professional photographers, or maps? Our phones are brilliant these days and yet they’re still wanting to ban children using them in school when they could be really educational.

Sue @SueTrevor I need my camera…I have no idea how to get pics from my phone to list in my shop and HOW would I be able to crop them. on the phone?
Not to mention I currently have nearly 2000 pics on my laptop. x

you lot do make me laugh! Brenda @teabreaks reminded me of a very old joke, lady of the night no 1 to lady of the night no 2. - I made £5.50 tonight. Lady of the night no 2 - who gave you 50p, lady of the night no 1 - they all did!

Morning all

Thank you all for the shop support. I had a major wobble. Hate sales but starting to do 4 day reductions, beginning this Sunday. If unsold goes onto fleabay then charity shop.

They are very picky round here Sarah. Grayshott in particular, have one place I always drop off my items and they love them, because new and handmade. A friend went to one shop in Guildford in the 80’s and she picked up a cream Jaegar full length coat for £5, dropped it at the cleaners and it was beautiful. Jaeger at the top of the high street still had them in stock at £150.
