Daily Listing Challenge and Group Promotion Thread - September 24

Morning all

Fairly dull day here with rain expected I think. Hubby and son are on their way to Southampton for the second time this weekend!.. to visit the university. I’m hoping to do some painting (as in art - not decorating!) or other crafts today.

Here’s another mini canvas artwork today:

Oh my goodness Liz, you have just brought back an amazing childhood memory! We were on holiday and went to the model village at Babbacombe where it decided to absolutely chuck it down. We were soaked and my dad decided to take his trousers off to stop the seat getting wet in the car. Just after leaving the village we broke down but strangely an AA van was coming in the opposite direction so my dad leapt out of the car to flag him down! There were a few red faces :joy:.

Good morning everyone it’s absolutely chucking it down today and has been since Brian got up at about 6 ish.
Good grief Hilary @kokoblue my tea nearly flew across the room, I had just taken a mouthful when I read your post.
What a great model you make Brenda @teabreaks, these youngsters have nothing on us oldies do they. Sofa is looking good too.

Gosh we’ve had some rain the last couple of days and more today, I hope it improves by the end of the week as we’re caravanning!

Sorry about your tea Pauline @OswestryJewels! It’s funny what you remember isn’t it, it was nearly 60 years ago :scream:.

Looking fabulous, Brenda, very glam and I love your sofa.

Big hugs to everyone who’s having a tough time.

I don’t always interact on the group, Emma @QuirkyOwlStudio when I’m at my day-job I just get overwhelmed and don’t have enough hours in the day, but it’s a lovely welcoming, caring group.

All is back to normal… it’s raining. .

A flower field for today…

I love memories like this. When we were about 15/16 my friends and I decided to walk to the local garage (about a mile away) to get an ice-cream, it was the summer holidays so we didn’t really think about it much. Low and behold we were caught in a huge rainstorm on the way back and took shelter in a phonebox (rememeber those!! LOL), well after half an hour there wasn’t any let up so we decided to just crack on with it and run for home. The three of us then sat watching movies in dressing gowns and towels round our heads for the rest of the day. Good times.

Spending a couple of days catching up with family in Weston super Mare. Took a leisurely drive down stopping in Malmesbury and Tetbury…what lovely places. Anyone live in that area?

thanks everyone…not doing too badly for 77…i am such a show off ha ha.
One of my memories is when the family were involved with doing shows. We were singing in the Magic Flute and my Mum was the queen of the night…her make up was a dark green face with sequins all over her eyes and forehead. Her costume was a fabulous chiffon green and black floaty gown with a long cape. We always used to come home in our costumes and change and remove make up at our leisure. My dad was driving along Southall Broadway and stopped at some traffic lights…lots of cars in front of us and behind us. The car conked out and my Mum, brother and I had to get out and push…goodness knows what people thought of three people looking like witches, pushing an old black Ford Popular car, I don’t know…lol…

Hilary @kokoblue that is hilarious our trip was not so exciting but we all really enjoyed it (the adults more than we expected).

Sarah @dotterypottery well done on the sales you are the mainstay of our conga for now.

Loving all the stories - we once rowed across from the mainland to Bute on the West Coast of Scotland my Dad and his pal rowed and there were so many of us it took two trips the day started in bright sunshine but by the time of the last row back a sea mist had rolled in and the rowers misjudged the crossing and were lost when they got to the other side having to navigate back to our hotel using the road signs on the coast road. All was well but those waiting were very close to calling out the Coastguard - would we do it now I am not sure they were different times.

Big hugs and much love to all who needs them.

I am feeling very blessed by our weather here. Another lovely sunny Sunday afternoon and Friday was a scorcher! We had heavy rain in the night so hopefully the grass in the fields might grow, I am having to feed the actual Quaver and Lyric twice a day due to lack of grass!

Judith @judyrowleyart I would have never been allowed off the naughty step if I had done what you did to your Hubby and Son!

Cara @FelstedFleece hope the sheep stay free of that awful disease
Hope you all enjoy what is left of the weekend! Where does time disappear to?

Today’s listing is back to my favourite theme of horses :horse:
