Did Someone Switch Folksy Off?

No activity in the last 30 days - none. I expect to have fairly poor views on this platform because I always do, but absolutely NO activity in the last 30 days? Not a favourite, not a feature in a guide, zip, nothing. Soul destroying.

I can empathise with you Bea, I try to contribute regularly here in the forum but when I can’t make it for a few days, shop activity takes a hit. I think it pays to get your work in front of others even if they are other sellers, it’s a very supportive community here. Hoping to be helpful, I just caused a little shower on your drought.

For a lot of us Bea, not being a folksy favourite or featured in a guide is quite normal, if your views are down it maybe as Mick says, if you get involved with some of the forum threads people will get to know you and will sprinkle some  I wish things would pick up here for all of us, your work is really interesting btw

I’m thinking there’s an issue with the stats at the moment as mine have been exactly the same since Thursday!!

Actually, that crossed my mind too. @dougfolksy could you look into it please?

Bea
Can I recommend that you don’t delete your sold listings. If you delete them then they show as little icons on your reviews and reviews are a very powerful promotional tool. Xx

I subscribe to Folksy seller updates and have just had their email with a link to the Folksy blog where there is an update on what the team have been doing to improve traffic and sales. It’s an interesting read.

Here’s (hopefully) the link:

Definitely a welcome new update that looks like it’ll be regularly issued going forward, which is great.

What would be good to know about the stats they quote under ā€œwhere people came fromā€ is whether they’re able to identify how many of the visits are Folksy Seller activity - I’m assuming they can’t…

A really interesting read. Shows that overall site performance is better than many individuals are experiencing. Most interesting about the buyers coming from Google searches, that’s a welcome trend.

ā€œOverall total order value over the last three months was up a fraction at 0.13% yearā€
/
ā€œsales on Folksy over the last three months have been pretty much in line with the same time last year.ā€
So sales Are actually down (on previous year) because
0.13% is less than the rise even in postage costs and order values on Folksy include that never mind any actual ā€˜inflationary’ price increases
It seems what I am seeing in my shop (5 orders in May and a big fati Zero in June though I’ve had 5 since returning from my holiday in my other shop) is reflected across the Folksy platform. Well at least it’s good to know it’s not just my shop which is largely invisible.

for me I have had a brilliant year.
I think it helps that I paint and LIST a new item every day and I appreciate that this is impossible for a lot of people but I think when you list a new item, you get on the front page for a short time and this helps.
Being on the daily challenge thread also helps and as long as you have 30/31 items in your shop that you can list one a day for the month, then you become more visible.
This month I have sold 32 items and 40 last month ( and yes I accept that my items are cheap, so people buy more than one at a time ) but I work very hard to make sure that I keep listing EVERY day so that there is always something new in my shop for people to see. It is no good (in my opinion) always having the same things visible in your shop or people stop looking. Perseverance is the key, as I sold two paintings today…ones that have been in my shop for YEARS !!!..so never give up but get visible ! xx

As a matter of interest I too list (and SM share) almost every day, sometimes more than one thing a day.
Well done Brenda on your sales but I can’t afford to sell my glass any cheaper than I do. I could not justify, to my very tolerant husband Bob, spending so much of my time glassing, instead of dusting and polishing if I only recoup my material costs with no extra to put towards our holidays together.
PS A dish I sold today (elsewhere) has a 1906 in the title which makes it 5 years old.

I was wondering if there is an issue. Although I dont get a huge no of shop vistits. Ive had zero search clicks for over a week which is very unusual.

I think the search stats is stuck as mine has been the same for days now.

Of those 500K plus visitors to folksy, how many sales were made in that same quarter?

Yes I just compared mine to the GA and GA figures for Pinterest alone are completely different to those showing in my stats here. I tend to trust GA more.
GA is switching of the old UA streams as of tomorrow, 1st of July. I don’t suppose that is significant ?.

Thanks you’ve confirmed what I had suspected

A good read - I need to get subscribed if I can find the link.
