I like the update and keeping us informed of what is going on behind the scenes and sharing of figures, i hope it will become regular news.
I wonder which sellers took part in the research and what was involved and how buyers will be taking part this time.
My stats havn’t changed the past few days, I only know because we discussed them on another post a feew days ago and the fugures are exactly the same as they were then so there must be a glitch in the system somewhere.
It’s good to read what’s going on - you said you subscribed @JudyAdams - where? I’ve followed your link and read the piece but don’t see where to subscribe. Unless I have my blinkers on again
as a matter of interest is that both places Google can appear. Someone said in another post their Google was a certain figure but didn’t say whether it was shop or item level and it probably matters
I for example am currently showing 16 at item level and 1 at shop level.
I think it’s on your dashboard if you look down the list under ‘improve your shop’, but I think this below is a direct link to sign up if I’ve copied it correctly:
@ccbandatp there are 2 types of folksy newsletters that go out. The email that went out with the link to the blog article is the sellers newsletter and you should be automatically signed up for it when you open a shop. The other one is a buyers newsletter which you can sign up for via the subscribe button at the bottom of the home page. If you are not getting the sellers newsletter its worth checking your promotions folder (if you have one, that’s where gmail files it) or spam/ junk folder and if you still can’t find it drop admin an email.
Thanks Sasha. I receive both and signed up for both, because it’s interesting to see what Folksy send out to buyers as well as to sellers, and also because I am both a seller and a buyer!
Thanks Sasha - I do get the sellers newsletter and I remember seeing this flash up somewhere but didn’t focus properly to follow it up. I’ve signed up now thanks to @JudyAdams ’s link. It’s good to see what is being done
With regards to Pinterest bringing in a high volume of traffic to Folksy, I thought I’d share this FB post from Folksy clubhouse (posted by Jo Brown) - there is a way to link your Instagram account to pinterest and every time you post on Instagram it pins every photo to your pinterest account.
I’ve linked mine and set it to pin to my Dottery Pottery board (not sure if that was the best place to put it as I don’t really use Pinterest that often and not sure how many people would search for my name)
Here’s the link the the useful post:
Jo @TomatoHeaven - hope you don’t mind me sharing here x
Don’t know about switching Folksy off but either someone has or the stats have been disconnected… As mine are still showing same as weekend and are completely at odds with what GA is telling me. . @dougfolksy can you help please. ?
@JOYSofGLASS@tinyartstudio I raised this in the Folksy local captain’s group yesterday as mine have been the same since last Thursday - I’ve not heard anything back yet but will pass on info if I hear anything.
I tagged Doug but realised we have heard nothing from him for ages and ages and I am aware they have recently been advertising for new techie… Is he still with us ,??
Thanks so much for posting this - I didn’t realise they’d done that - so useful!
I just linked mine and loved that they automatically brought in all my Instagram posts in the last 90 days as new pins. I’ve now edited them all properly, which is something I will definiately be taking the time to do going forwards - most of my Pinterest is currently like the worst kind of magpie nest of sparkly things!
