Don't forget!

Sigh. Here we go again. @folksycontent could the ‘bulk edit’ possibly be fixed so it doesn’t show sold-out items as ‘active’, please? I don’t want to edit the postage on sold-out items, I like to have an accurate record and presumably if I change the postage then it changes it on the receipt too (same as what happens if I edit a sold item to change the photos… which is why I always copy or make a new listing). And I don’t want to waste time editing sold items, what is the point of that? PLEASE surely it can’t be that hard to take sold-out items out of the list, even if they haven’t yet expired. [I really struggle with stock management on Folksy, I want to be able to see and edit JUST the items that are currently for sale and as most of mine look pretty much identical in thumbnails it would be really helpful to have proper tools for finding them. An SKU field would be brilliant. As would an indication of an item’s status in the ‘All’ search results. I have already accidentally relisted sold-out items on more than one occasion and occasionally they then sell before I realise what I’ve done. Good thing most of my customers are lovely and very understanding!]

Just a note to say that as we all now know the Post Office is a terribly efficient organisation !!
Took my four packages along today hoping (but not 100% optimistic) to use Tracked 24 at my lovely local post office. Jo has pressed every button but has no Tracked Icons there.
Thinking about it … do we think that the Post Office would have been working their cotton bunny socks off over the Easter holidays to download the updated software out to the little rural post offices (even the big ones as well for all I know) ready for the 2nd April as per their new price lists ??? OOOOPS no…
So… net result… packages have gone out as standard small package (one signed for but according to the leaflet with only £20 insurance cover on a £45 suncatcher).
Jo is hoping / expecting to get a download over night tonight… Watch this space

I have just been into my tiny post office to ask about tracked 48 and it seems it hasn’t found it’s way to the rural ones yet. My only option now is to temporarily purchase online, the one thing I did NOT want to do. My postmistress only earns a tiny amount for handling this so I will do it as a temporary measure only until the option is available over the counter. 2nd class signed for small parcel is now off limits as they have brought the compensation limit down to £20 and I can’t use the option of Special delivery on all packages as that will be in excess of £9.00
Probably just another way of forcing us to buy online so they can close yet more post offices in the community. Hopefully the tracked 48 option will reach the sticks before too long.

I am trying to go through mine now and change the various options but it takes time trying to see which items have already sold, I don’t understand why sold items still show as active, all I can think is that they stay until their renewal dates have expired. I completey agree, it would make everything easier if once they are sold they become ‘inactive’ .

I ended up opening the ‘sold out’ listings in another window and working through both lists at once so I didn’t (I hope) accidentally edit items I didn’t need to! If anyone has a simpler workaround I’d love to know what it is…

I’ve just left my postage as is for the moment. As soon as Jo has the tracked options on her till i will use it but…she has heard nothing and this morning was sent some big labels with no explanation as to what they are for but if you stick one on one of my small packages there will be no room for the address…
And of course once they have downloaded the new software to do the Tracked what chance do you give it of right first time… given the already total failure of the rollout…
I told Jo I won’t be posting for 8 days starting next week so hopefully they will actually do the update the first day and then have another 7 to get it right ready for my return but
Don’t hold your breath

Well I’m hoping it’s not long Joy, it should have been sorted by RM before they took the compensation off the 2nd class signed parcel option, Cath told me to buy online until she has it or I won’t be covered for loss, she said they are suppose to be getting it but she hasn’t heard anything either.
I hav’nt changed all of my listings yet but will have to.
I might have to join you in holding your breath
