EORI number

I’ve had my first sale to the EU today since the changes came into place and have been reading about the steps I need to take to correctly get the parcel to its destination. An article I read here on folksy said I would need an EORI number. I’ve never heard of this before and not sure if I do indeed need one.

Also, when browsing the application online, the second question asks if my ‘organisation is part of a VAT group in the UK?’ Since folksy collect the VAT on my behalf, I assumed that would be yes, but when I click this it tells me I need a different service.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t know all that much about it but I know you can apply for an EORI number Get an EORI number - GOV.UK either as a business or as an individual (used to be able to anyway). Simplest is if you can buy the postage in the post office as I believe they can use their own EORI number and they can also help ensure all the paperwork is completed correctly. Remember to take the IOSS number with you and write it on parcel. Well done on the sale and good luck. No idea if I did it all correctly but I recently sent one to France and it got there so must have muddled through ok :grinning:
