And sorry, I think I replied to @SashaGarrett rather than you @cariadinstitches forums are definitely not my superpower
Think its sorted now I will copy the descriptions into open office first and close the gaps then copy to Folksy.
Thank you so much everyone I was ready to give up
I’ve had the same, tried copy & paste into ‘notepad’ still the same, then I pasted into ‘Open Office Writer’ and it show little grey squares where I had put an extra space, I cleared them and copied and pasted back into the description, and it was okay. Also the character count includes line breakes, so if you did something like
This, it gets included in the character count
That is exactly what it was. Least I know now. Was pulling my hair out yesterday
You’ve got it!
It’ll be a problem with the pasted text where it’s copied across some formatting, which just looks like a space to us but to the Folksy system is an unusual character (which is why it looks like there’s nothing in the list of invalid characters).
Pasting as plain text might help, but if it still fails, putting it in a word processor such as Writer should help figure it out. Word processors often have the option to view field shadings, and this is what will highlight all of those unusual spaces in grey so you can delete them. Once your text has no grey spaces, you should be able to paste it back to Folksy and successfully list it.
