Etsy migration - Hello everyone!

I’m incoming from Etsy and my own website, plus a little eBay. It’s nice to find an alternative to DropShipperland which both Etsy and eBay have become.

Shop wise, I’m just after a little advice on how Folksy seems to work: Is it SEO heavy? Should titles be “Personalised Dinosaur Bag Back To School Dinosaur Gift T-Rex Bag Dinosaur” or simple “Personalised Dinosaur Bag”? Should Descriptions be heartfelt or keyword stuffed?

It looks like people focus a lot on the behind-the-scenes information, does this actually pay off in regard to sales? I’m hoping Folksy tops up on the slumps that seem to happen on other platforms, but that could just be the sales drop between people’s pay days  It could simply be that I need to improve my designs.

Anyway, hello everyone and happy to be here! Now, back to importing the other 163 items - thank you Folksy Support for doing the bulk of the import.

Hi, the folksy search algorithm was changed recently. Heres a link to the blog post on the new search which will hopefully answer your query.

Ah, the search makes sense, and it’s good to know. My items are showing already, so that’s really good news.

I’ve seen a lot of posts on here that seems to suggest that you need to drive your own traffic? Is that really the case? Does it not get organically sewn through Google and Bing?

Hi Sophie @thunderlizard
Welcome to Folksy Yes you do have to drive traffic to your shop and promote it. I notice you don’t have a link on IG to your Folksy shop which you really need.
