That’s my kind of music too, I love all the Merseybeat groups and my husband and I were lucky enough to be friends with Gerry Marsden from Gerry and the Pacemakers.
Morning everyone.
Happy Anniversary Caroline @Caroleecrafts and Lee, hope you have a lovely day.
It’s a nicer day than we expected today so we’re out for tea and cake - lovely lemon and elderflower today. Next a little wander round the farm shop and then New Order at the O2 tonight.
I was going to try to list something new today but I had a few items about to expire so have a relist instead.
Good morning everyone brr it’s very bright here but also very cold.
Talking of bands my era was the 60s. I saw Jimi Hendrix, Amen Corner, John Mayall, PP Arnold, Joan Baez, Moody Blues etc etc, but now I’m more into Karl Jenkins and the like.
Happy Anniversary to you you and to Lee Caroline @Caroleecrafts the years do roll along very quickly don’t they. It’ll be our 53rd Anniversary in December.
Today I have a set of 4crystal icicle Christmas tree decorations or Sun Catchers
Happy Anniversary Caroline @Caroleecrafts X
All this talk of bands is making me feel ancient. We’re definitely in the 60s era. The first record I ever bought was Poor Me by Adam Faith. My claim to fame…? Cliff Richard (alias Harry Webb) was a pupil at my father’s school in Enfield (Dad was the headmaster), and he did an annual performance there for the school fund. I was never allowed to go. My friend Barbara from University was in the same class at school as Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch. Anybody remember them? Mark @pritteehippee, you must be of an age with our sons, one of whom still plays in a band in the Pacific North West USA.
Enough yatter…
My new listing for today:Train T-shirt for a Tiny Tot
Thanks for including my house card in your board, Maxine @MaxPringJewellery
Welcome back. Lovely to see you here. The rules for this thread are at the top of the page but basically you list or relist every day and commit to going into everyone else’s listings and favouriting their item. I’m sure someone else will explain it better!
Hi everyone I’m back again with CfTT this time.
Just remember some more bands I saw these include Dave Clark 5, Gene Pitney, Tremeloes, MerseyBeats, Herman’s Hermits and I’m sure there’s more.
Today I have a relist of a 4 piece cabled pram set for baby
Thank you
It’s been interesting reading about all of your music experiences, my first concert was to see the Tremeloes with my parents. Then Slade back in the mid 70s, I also went to one of the Stiff Tour gigs back in the late 70s which was the likes of Ian Dury and the Blockheads, Wreckless Eric and Elvis Costello….they don’t make them like that anymore! More recently I saw Faithless and Craig David! Hoping for Take That tickets for Christmas x
Afternoon all, excited to have been featured on today’s Folksy #folksyfriday list and off the back of that I’m assuming I’ve had two sales @Caroleecrafts , that takes me to four for the month.
Trying to think of the last gig I was I, I remember the last gig I wasn’t at which was Foo Fighters in Edinburgh, Dave Grohl broke his leg so it was postponed and then I was too pregnant to manage the recheduled date. I’ve been to quite a few festivals so have seen lots across lots of genres. Chemical Brothers were amazing, went to Budapest and Dublin to see ACDC, seen James, Manic Street Preachers and Kasabian a few times and adored seeing Fat Boy Slim once that was such a fun gig.
Edit: forgot the listing, a relist today as I’ve not got anything new to share;
Happy Friday all! I am off to my very first exhibition tmw at St Helens. Feeling very nervous! I do feel a bit of an imposter and am sure they are going to ask what I’m doing there as im not a proper artist! Still, time to be brave!
Sharing this today.
Oh that’s a great photo sue , had to chuckle at the man randomly flashing a nipple!
Despite good intentions I managed to waste a good hour before making out the door
I noticed nobody had one of my cakes at the coffee morning but the competition was quite strong!
Your work is beautiful Louise, they are lucky to have you. Hope it goes well x
@aquilacrafts thank you so much, thats a lovely thing to say .
Believe it or not he was the head man, forgotten his title at the moment but everything went through him! I did publicity, designing posters and making sure they got out all through the campus. In return I got free tickets, access to a balcony that normal people didn’t and free gigs all over the country and the occasional shindig at a local restaurant. Well worth the effort
So then Joss @XStitcherJoss you bought the record and invested in my family fortune…ha ha
