I would be very grateful if someone could tell me who I send my theme of the day listings to, so that they will go on Folksy’s theme of the day on the front page?
I put the Valentine’s Day theme of the day tag onto my listings and I have been looking forward to seeing them on the front page today, but I have refreshed the page more than 50 times and my items don’t show, so I assume I have to send my listings to someone to put them on, but I haven’t been able to find a link to do that.
Some listings are showing over and over again when I refresh the page, is this because those sellers have paid extra for advanced promotions on their theme of the day listings when they send them in?
Sorry if this has been asked before. I couldn’t find anything in the help section.
If you hit the ‘See More’ you will I think find that there are 1520 listings tagged as ‘valentine gift’ and as only 8 appear at a time that means there are 190 pages worth…so you might need to refresh a few more times. There are no extra promotions on Folksy. Everybody gets the same.
The listings are selected entirely by their tags. Why some appear more frequently I have no idea but it is not because the sellers of those items do anything other than tag their listings in the same way as everyone else. I’ve not seen mine either and I have tagged several but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles.
I presume you have tagged with the exact ‘Valentine Gift’ because that’s the only ones which will be selected.
Which items have you got with “valentine gift” as the tag? As @JOYSofGLASS says, it needs to be an exact match to the theme tag to show, and there’s a theme title and theme tag, so you have to make sure you get the right one. I can’t see any of your Valentine’s cards with that tag, I’m not sure if there are any other items in your shop that might have the tag on, but I find your shop a little overwhelming when I look at your page with so many collections, so I might have missed some.
Hi Folksy
Hoping you are all keeping healthy in these strange times!
I am not sure if this has been covered before, but is there a way that theme tags can be a little more standardised eg ‘gift for a friend’ or ‘gift for friend’ by keeping one title that can get reused?
I am noting that some new theme tags listed are v similar to older ones eg with or without punctuation or a letter such as an ‘…a…’ or ‘…’s…’.
My own tags therefore sometimes need to be changed to align with the new theme wording. Many thanks
How does theme of the day determine where you items are placed? Do Folksy plus sellers get better position?
I am trying to apply themes to my items if possible, today is turquoise, I have about 10 turquoise items But had to go through 21 pages before I found one of my items! There are also a lot of items that are not turquoise at all. I was going to start a new topic but Folksy suggested this was a similar theme!
I think most recently listed show at the top, some themes do have lots of items listed, but for some there are only a few pages. I often have to go through lots of pages to find my items.

@MadebyRhian, Yes, it’s the most recently listed items that show at the top of the comprehensive list. The ones on the front page are randomly selected from all the tagged items every time the page is refreshed.
The theme of the day uses the the tags from the colours and material section of an item as well as the search tags. This means that if someone has listed a multicoloured item and included turquoise as one of the 5 colours in that listing, it will show up in the theme. For example, I have a yellow, cream and turquoise purse listed where turquoise is not the major colour. It’s included in the theme because I have included turquoise in the colours section. This will always happen with themes that use a colour as the tag.
