I thought I read somewhere that it was one item only to be posted by each seller. Am I mistaken as I see multiple items by several sellers?

Yes, it definitely said one item only. 
Yes says one only, I would report to Folksy as I expect the selection is done automatically and without checking would not be seen.
Some people never play fair
Have just reported 3 shops for not playing fair, then got bored but hope Folksy now investigate. 1 shop tagged 35 items.
Sadly I do not bother with the totd as happens all the time with tagging items that are nothing to do with the theme. From a customers point of view must think we have all gone mad.

Yes, today was the theme day that I was really looking forward to as I was expecting a really diverse collection of craft items but I gave up looking after page 3,

Yeah I’ve noticed multiple items shown from the same shop , I’ve actually also noticed sometimes that there’s only maybe two more items from different shops the rest are from one and the same shop… not playing fair??
but then if folksy aren’t addressing this with those in question , it will carry on unfortunately
I noticed the same thing, there’s one person taking up at least half a page just on their own.
I’m also really dismayed at how few people will have participated overall. I suspect those who have played unfairly and mistagged items repeatedly have actually done the damage and made the feature irrelevant to most sellers. Today should have had thousands of items…

I used to join but when you get a tag say of a horse and offerings of a car, I gave up.
I was really looking forward to today’s theme. Really disappointed.
I carefully choose thinking it might be seen. Not a chance now. I would certainly give up if I was looking.
Hope Folksy finally does something about these shops.

I don’t know how to report a seller but I do wonder if some just saw the title favourite things on the list and didn’t see the part about one item only. Think it should have been put clearly in brackets on the list. I know there are some sellers who take liberties with the theme of the day but I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. It is disappointing though.

Yes, I suspect a lot of people will have looked at the list and not at the ‘rules’, and will have missed the special rules for this tag. Adding a note on the list itself would make it really clear. I do think this is a really good idea though and one we should persevere with!

I understood it was to be one item only, and tagged one item myself. I am really disappointed that so many people have disregarded (or speaking charitably ‘misunderstood’) this. What hope is there for those of us who tagged one thing when the theme is swamped with mass listings.

Could some thing be written into the coding that picks out the theme of the day tag to check for duplicated shop names.

I can understand the mistake on the homepage tags because I just looked at the list and it just says " favourite things…".
On the main list, it doesn’t say that you can only tag one item. I have only just tagged one…but if I had not read the comments today, I would most likely have tagged a lot of items from my shop…it would have been an easy mistake to make.

I agree with those who have flagged up the fact that the main list does not specify one item only and thus those who only read the list rather than Camilla’s full posting may not have realised - and the tag being plural doesn’t help. Unfortunately this was the only theme that my work fitted into this month, so I was looking forward to it.

I agree with you here Brenda - it is possible that because this is the first time that folksy are trying this for this month (and not done before) people have assumed that they can tag more than one item for this day just like the other days - and as you say, if you look at just the list there is no indication that it is limited to one item only on that day .
I do think it is a good idea for one day in the month to be one item only and it sounds as if folksy are thinking of making it a regular feature - I don’t know if they intend to have different dates for this ‘one item only’ restriction - personally I would prefer it to be on a date that people could remember like the last or first day of the month or failing that, highlighted in the listings.

so being good like I am…lol…I tagged ONE chosen item for today…but…question…does this mean that after today, I need to go and remove the tag, otherwise, it will get picked up again, the next time they use this tag…perhaps the tag should be “favourite item Mar 21”
I would have said yes unless you want this item displayed every time.
