Folksy Plug-in?

Hi. I didn’t know where else to ask this question, so I hope I’m in the right place.

I’m looking to open a website and link it to my folksy account, to manage stock (I only make one of each bag, so don’t want to sell one twice if a customer happens to purchase one on my site and another buys one from my folksy store.

Many thanks

Folksy don’t provide any tools for doing stock management like that. There might be a third party provider who does but i’m not sure how well they would sync with folksy given the lack of sku/ stock number field in the listings.

There is a widget you can use though, so it’ll give a grid of your item thumbnails that you can put on your website, and then when someone clicks on one, it’ll take them straight to the listing on Folksy.
If you look under the shop settings section on dashboard, you should see the page for widgets (or just go https://folksy.com/dashboard/widgets).

You’re given a choice of showing the items in shop order or most recently listed/relisted and grid size.
With the amount of listings you have at the moment, the current grid options are probably fine for you, but for those with larger shops that have a lot more items they want to show, if you alter the numbers in the code you can get a bigger grid.

For example, with the default options the biggest grid is 4 x 4, and near the end of the code you’ll see “4/4/shop”
The first number is how many columns, and the second number how many rows. You just need to change these numbers to change the grid size.
You could change it to 8/4/shop if you wanted a much wider grid, but as many people view on vertical devices now, it’s probably better to increase the row number instead.
4/20/shop would show 80 items, 5/50/shop would show 250 items, so whatever size your shop, you can alter the numbers to make it fit your entire shop if you want (there’d just be a lot of scrolling for big shops).

The preview on that page won’t update when you change the code, but when you copy the code across to your site, it should show correctly.

I use the widget on my own website which is shop front only. I have it set to allow 700 listings i think. https://joysofglass.co.uk/
Glad I checked… just spotted a blue elephant at the bottom which wants moving to the top

I don’t think the OP is looking for a widget to direct customers away from her website to Folksy. I think she is looking for stock management integration between Folksy and her website, eg StockSync, so that stock is automatically updated on Folksy when it is sold on her website.

Thank you, everyone for your replies!

PoppyKay is correct. I’m looking for something that will update the stock on my folksy page if someone should purchase it from my website

Yes I am sure you are right. My comment was just to show how the widget works as i use it but i don’t sell from my own website and have to stock manage myself between Folksy and my other platforms.
Usually get it right as it’s not as if I am selling a dozen things here a day or a week / month even for that matter.

Yes @SashaGarrett already gave the correct answer for that, I’m afraid it’s not something we have available.
