Gift Guides and Tags

Can I ask what may well be a really stupid question?!!

I know there are various call outs for Gift Guide entries that the Folksy staff have, and that to stand a good chance of being listed in a guide it’s a good idea to have the relevant tags and also reply to relevant Gift Guide threads with suggestions of your work to draw attention to your listing. But… does it help the Folksy staff to find you if you use the specific category name in your tags? For example, I might have an item that has ‘personalised gift’ in the tags, but I’m wondering if I should also include ‘gifts you can personalise’ as that’s the name of one of the Guides?

Or wouldn’t it make any difference?

That’s an interesting idea, but it’s not something I normally do and I have had some of my items included in the gift guides.

I think the Folksy staff are really very good at spotting things that are suitable for gift guides, but it does help to suggest them on the threads in the Forum. Your tags are quite important for customers to find your work, so I would keep them more specific to your listing if I were you, but that’s just my opinion.
