I’ve searched here in the forum but can’t find any recent information, do you get picked to go into a gift guide only if you are a ‘folksy favourite’ or is there some way you can ask to be added please? Sorry if this has been asked and replied to before but I just can’t find anything.

i’ve no idea i’m afraid. I recently got an email telling me about things that had happened with my shop the previous month and one of them was that four of my items had been put on the gift guide. I never look at the gift guide though so i haven’t seen them.

I think someone on the Folksy team searches for and selects items that fit the brief and you don’t need to have been seller of the month or anything to be included. You can also suggest items via some of the threads on Folksy Talk - I have had the odd thing included over the years, don’t think they were items I suggested but can’t do any harm putting things forward in the hope they catch someone’s eye.

@GINGERPINEAPPLECRAFTS If you go to dashboard > shop activity, you’ll see the events from the past 30 days, that includes people favouriting your items or shop and if any items have been added to gift guides. If you’ve had any activity, you’ll normally get an email at the end of the week as well.
Like @feelfeltfound says, you don’t have to be a Folksy favourite to be included, but as with the favourites, the team will be looking for eye catching photos.
Sometimes there might be threads on the forum asking for suggestions (if you go to the top of the forum where it says “all categories” and change it to “gift guides”, that will show the threads that have been started for suggestions… although some are quite old now!). The team will also use search to find items, so if you think one of your items would be perfect for a particular gift guide, you should make sure you’ve mentioned related terms in the listing/tags so it’ll come up in a search.
It’s good to remember the gift guides aren’t constantly added to but will be done occasionally, so you might have the most perfectly suitable item with amazing photos that comes straight up in search… but it just might not be included because that particular gift guide hasn’t been added to lately.
