was getting in the grove and thought i’d join wordpress, thought i had chosen the free one then it asked for my payment details, so tried to go back so to change but it wouldn’t let me arghh posted on the wp forum but no joy, tried to contactt support no joy, please help …

Well still no help or advice from wordpress so i’ve changed my paypal address, that way (even though i didn’t put any payment details in) they cant take no money and now i’ve blocked them from my e-mail, nothing else i can think of doing :-\
which type of account did u sign up for?

when i went on the homepage there were loads of designs etc so i click on a plain and simple one, i filled in the details, (the name of what i wanted to call it then it said next so i clicked that and it asked me for payment details so i tried to click on back but it wouldn’t let me, i went into the form to ask for help left a message there and tried to contact support, went round in circles and got a part where it said live support, but couldn’t get any further no box check or marker to get help.
So by that time i was pi***d off logged out and kept popping on to view and see if anyone answered me on the forum, ppl were reading but not commenting on, guess they were just having a giggle too 
I had two messages from they one saying click to activate but i didnt click it i was too scared to then within a matter of second a second one came through say it’s now yours :-\ so darnt even look at my emails now 
According to their T&C to terminate your account you need to…
Termination. Automattic may terminate your access to all or any part of the Website at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, effective immediately. If you wish to terminate this Agreement or your WordPress.com account (if you have one), you may simply discontinue using the Website. All provisions of this Agreement which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability.
(automattic are the people that run wordpress, this might be of use https://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=cancelling+account )
So don’t use the account/ wordpress and you should be ok but drop support an email exlaining the situation if you can.

if you haven’t given any payment details and you click to activate, they still can’t take any money as they have none of your details, do they?
perhaps u chose a premium one instead of a free one - even so if u haven’t given card details, they can’t take money.
if linked to your paypal, they can take money maybe - not sure.

Hi Sally @SallyandtheFreckles i’m guessing it was a premium with it asking for payment, i didn’t click on anything at the payment stage just saw it and tried to get back realizing i had picked the wrong thing, I’ve changed my paypal address so hopefully if they do try to go ahead with it they won’t be able to,
Sasha @SashaGarrett i followed the links but i end up at the same place where it says if you haven’t recieved an activation email they will resend it, i’m at my flipping whits end and feeling as sick as a pig, i darn’t log in incase it does activate it ( if it wasn’t activated) i cant get anyone on there to talk to 
I’ve just been talking to my hubby about it and he recons if i didn’t type in my paypal password they shouldnt be able to take any money anyway, not knowing much about the inner workings of wordpress would he be right ?

i can check for you if it’s free or not then
