Help on if my shop looks good enough

Hi Iv opened a shop about a month ago.Wondering if I will get a sale.My shop is beingcraftybypauline.I don’t have social media.Does anyone sell without it.And any advise on how to improve my shop. Thanks

Welcome to the forum Pauline.

Your about section has no spaces after the full stops, which makes reading it hard, would be better to have longer sentences in some instances.

Your descriptions, you need more details, with the bookmarks sizes. Imagine telling a blind person about your bookmarks.

Wooden frog book mark

Your description reads: Hand painted wooden frog book mark 12cm long.Acrylic paints.Glossed finish. Each bookmark may be slightly different as all hand painted.Hope you enjoy my work.

Try:

Fun wooden frog book mark, hand painted in acrylics with a glazed finish to protect the design. The background is purple and black with silver detailing. The frog is in colours of blue and green with silver sprigs to embellish.

Please note as hand painted no two bookmarks will be the same, this ensures each piece of art is unique.

Measures 12cm long x ? Wide and a depth of ?

Oh brill I will definitely look at that tonight thanks for your help. That brilliant advice.Thankyou.

A small point but as it is your shop front and all the customers have to find out about you… your butterfly photo is not 100% in focus. Can you improve it. Presentation does matter a lot.

You would be much better pricing at £6.00 than £5.99. The 1p makes no difference when someone decides whether to buy or not and it will be much easier for you to do your accounts if you are in whole ££s.

Thanks for your advice wil definitely get have a look to improve tomorrow on my photos. Not the best at it.

What bright cheerful images you paint! Selling on any site is a slow business and if you don’t have social media it’s even slower, Folksy does rather expect you to be on social media so it may be a long time before you get any sales. Having said that I think you could improve your shop by looking at your descriptions and titles. Visit other successful shops to see how they present themselves and get some ideas and read the Folksy guides and apply them to your shop, the more work you do on your shop the more likely you are to make sales. Many of us find social media really daunting and (like me) are not very comfortable with it but it is a good idea if you want to sell work. Good luck.

Thanks for your advice I will be going over my descriptions. Was looking into Pinterest and Facebook business.Getting my daughter on it tonight lol.Really great advice and thanks for compliment on my work.Pauline
