Holiday Mode Or Open

I’m heading to the coast this weekend and as I’ve only recently opened my shop, I didn’t really want to put it in holiday mode.

Would I be better leaving it open and extending dispatch, leaving it and contacting buyer if I do sell anything or put it in holiday mode?

Also, can people still see my shop if it is in holiday mode?

Thanks in advance for any advice

(Sorry doing this on a tablet and keep hitting wrong buttons) Folksy dont penalise stores in the same way that etsy do if you put your store in holiday mode or if you dispatch ‘late’ (folksy dont work out/ publish dispatch dates on items). So id leave your store open and dispatch any orders on the next working day (whiqch folksy considers to be monday anyway)

with respect to people being able to see your shop if it is holiday mode - your items won’t show in search results but if people search for your shop or follow a link to your shop/ items then they will be able to see them but with a banner saying this ‘shop is having a short break’ (or something like that). So you wouldn’t be completely hidden in holiday mode but you are not as obvious as if you were open.

I didn’t mention…I’m away from home until next Friday.

Ah changes things a bit. You would have to edit each listing/ dispatch time individually to extend the dispatch times. Since you’ve only got 8 listings that wouldn’t be too time consuming but if you have more than that it is a real pain in the proverbial and switching on holiday mode is easier.

As Sasha @SashaGarrett said, you won’t get penalised for having your shop on holiday mode, so don’t worry about it. People will still be able to find your shop, and your listings will appear, but when someone visits your listing/shop they will see a banner that the shop is taking a break x

Thanks for the advice.

I think I’ll leave it on holiday mode until Wednesday then open up again. That way I’m home Friday to dispatch if I do have any sales. :crossed_fingers:
