How do you post links?

Been away for a while and things have changed a bit. How do you post in the forums and get the nice box with the information?

I am currently copying the web address and the picture separately but it comes up like this . . .

If you’re looking for a clickable photo here’s what I do (though suspect you may be looking for the one where you get a bit of the description - sorry can’t remember that one).

Open the listing in a new window and right hand click on the photo then come back here and paste into the chat box. Next highlight what you have just pasted and click on the hyperlink button (4th icon above). Go back and copy and paste the URL for the listing and paste that into the URL box on the hyperlink and click OK (can do the last part the other way round).

Should mention that I’m using a laptop - never tried it from a phone or on the app.

When you right click on the photo which option do you choose?

I would stick to doing what you did in the initial post - just pasting the link like this

(make sure you put it on a new line and start a new line straight after it)
Does come up with a box - but the thumbnail picture often doesn’t appear. It’s a glitch with the forums, which can’t be fixed by folksy. I always post the link and the image separately so everyone can see it.

(Typically it does seem to have worked for me this time!)

hi -
Have two browser windows open - both for folksy. one will have the forum here and then find your actual item in the second opened web browser. copy and paste the url from the second browser into the forum…

you don’t right click on the photo etc. as this will just mean you will put just the the photo in as in your first post.

This is what I get when I copy the URL and paste it here - on my post it is just the item title as a clickable link, not a box with details.

Hi - not sure what’s happening. Also strange because when i originally posted my link above in the box the photo showed and now it isn’t.

Sorry for the delay, you choose ‘copy image’ after right clicking on the pic. As others have mentioned you just get a clickable photo with no description (viewer has to click through to see that) but that’s what I prefer to do.
