If money were no object

Aww no it’s so frustrating   I would be lost without my wee cheapy lightbox from amazon

Well, if we had all the stuff we’d like but don’t need, I’m confident we’d use it!

I find doing mitered corners on quilt borders very tricky so can sympathise! :triangular_ruler:

Ooh, just remembered this - the lovely carpenter chap on The Repair Shop programme recommended Japanese Saws for cleaner cuts - a cheaper option that might work for you? They look like this: Japanese Pull Saws - Hand Tools - Classic Hand Tools Limited

I’ve just given a load of that away to a charity shop.

I have a Brother Innovis V3 which I absolutely love. It really depends how big a hoop you need. If you only intend to mainly small embroideries for your bears then you could go for a Brother Innovis F540E which has a maximum embroidery size of 5" x 7". Personally I wouldn’t go any smaller than that. The next one up would be a Brother Innovis NV880E which has a maximum hoop size of 10" x 6".
There are more, bigger ones but as you get bigger they get more expensive.
I have had Brother embroidery machines for about 25 years now and find them very easy to use, and very reliable.

Ahaaaa…Japanese tools, eh? Not seen these before; they’re well known for cutting and carving tools, certainly…have bookmarked for perusal later on; with thanks.

Thank you very much Kim, I think a 10 x 6 would be ample and who knows I may use one for other things as well but wouldn’t need any larger. I will check these ones out x

I have a light box that I have only used once, I will happily send it to you to use as it is just sat in my loft, what size do you need ? I can ask hubster to get it out and I can measure it, I bought it for my bears so if you are wanting it for small items it should be ok, if you would like it drop me a message using thr contact button with you name and address and i will post it to you. X

A studio for me! Somewhere that I don’t have to pack everything away to be able to eat at the table. Also a table that doesn’t give me backache like my dining room table when I am cutting out.

I admit, I have an addiction to sets of vintage letter stamping dies - I have FAR too many but whenever one turns up in a size or typeface I don’t have, I find it very hard to resist. Especially if it’s particularly quirky or antique. Or teeny tiny. I would also love to buy a bespoke metal stamping die with my own unique design on it, so I could ‘sign’ my stamped spoons, but I have never been able to decide what it should look like!
Oh and I would also buy a stand with a boom arm and a phone holder so I could make yet more stop motion videos. Although I am close to figuring out how to substitute the stand with a construction involving a stack of storage boxes, two rulers and an elastic band…

I bought a stand/tripod for my tablet and phone from Argos last year, I have only just tried it, i forgot I had it and havn’t watched the stop motion web thingy yet, just going to see if it’s available on catch up yet. Is that what you mean ? Not heard of a boom arm before.

I agree, the photography, then the editing! Takes nearly as long as the making!!!:sweat_smile:

Me too, I work until midnight every night it’s the only way I can make it work but I do sit hand sewing whilst watching TV on a night so not too bad.

That’s very kind of you because Kaffe Fasset fabric is quite expensive, so someone could possibly use it to make a quilt for a charity. I am going to use my fabric in my next quilt, when I have decided on a pattern.
