I can recommend the Brother Innov-is F540E is a perfect first-time embroidery machine with a 130 x 180 (5 x 7 inches) embroidery area. This is the machine I use when giving one to one tuition. I recently taught a 9 year old girl with ADHD and I have to say she was a quick learner so much so it only took her 4 two hour lessons and by then she could do everything including editing designs.

Thank you very much Sue, great to have recommendations to look at and a fairly simple machine is what I would like as I don’t get on with machines. I just need to either save up or convince hubby that 35 years of marriage next week is surely worth it, failing that I have a big birthday this year… 60th x
