I’m loving War and Peace. It was a bit gorrey this week, and I think Pierre should have broken his glasses when he was nearly blown up (haha). Next Sunday is the last episode.
I am really enjoying it and now wishing I had read the book beforehand. It was gory this week but I was laughing to myself when the surgeon, held the leg up (that he had chopped off) as though to state I’ve finished.
I had a chuckle at that too!
I’ve really loved watching it and have to say that Pierre is my favourite character (he’s so forgiving of everyone!). I have to say it’s hard to imagine war being so ‘gentlemanly’. I thought it was a book I was never going to read but I’m going to make the time now
and it showed the shock of the moment brilliantly
Absolutely! It was very brutal to see and so sad that these young men had previously had very heroic and almost romantic ideas about what it was to go to war.
Surely if Andre can hold the hand of the man that his fiancé had “shenanigans” with, he can forgive her and marry her.
For a minute I thought Andre was going to drag him off the table @GrimmExhibition !
@CoverStory I think he is too gentlemanly to do that.
Yes, all of that happened and still his glasses never broke!
Well it’s finally over. I cried buckets last night (hubby suggested he would get the mop out, haha). I’m glad Pierre found love at last, I thought he was going to be shot, that was a scarry moment.
Really enjoyed it, what do we watch Sunday nights now!!!
My husband and I both enjoyed the series. A happy ending for some of them, at least. I just kept wondering what happened to the poor little dog?
I felt emotionally exhausted after last nights final! And poor Sonia, lost her betrothed, although she was still smiling when they were sitting down to lunch in the meadow/orchard in the final scene.
I did feel the whole series could’ve been done over a few more episodes, it did feel a bit rushed in places.
I enjoyed the last episode. Did anybody notice yet a 3rd actor from Dickensian turned up. The guy with the dog is Honoria’s dad.
I didn’t notice that one. It’s amazing that actors can appear simultaneously in dramas on BBB1.
I think I would like to see Timothy Spall in Dickensian, I like him, he’s one of my favourites.
Loved it, but having not read the book, the ending was a complete surprise. Yes, I also noticed Honoria’s dad, I also love Dickensian. I’ll definitely miss it on Sunday.
Is anybody watching Jericho? Ive started to notice Annie’s(the main lady) costumes. Some have very subtle prints and have a lovely contrast to the colours eg, purple top with spots and dark grey skirt with pinstripes.
