Leaving Folksy booooohoo :(

The thing is someone may see something now but not want to buy it till maybe Xmas time.

Keep joining in as I think that is how alot of my sales have happened.
Pinterest is always good too.
Juice craft is another good one. or is it craft juice. There is a thread we all vote for each others items.

I think you just need to list more and join in more on here even though you think it’s not getting anywhere I’m sure that isn’t the case.

Just hope it helps you like it helped me. I’m going to pin some of your items.

So am I correct in thinking you’re going to stick around and start again @NobiasArt? I hope so! x

If i settle down here, I will pass those infos to the next newbie:)

Hobbitgirlie and Eileen’s comments made me think a bit more about it and they are right:) 20 listing wasn’t enough and now the new tag option might give a push to my shop as well along others shops:)

 does that mean you are going to stick around for a little while longer?

Was going to say I love this necklace
Why not do other colours and list them

And love your magnet sets too. And the rings.

i have a few other made already but only listed here 20 items just to see how it goes, that is why I have only added 1 from each style I make:) This is another one I have

I set up here and on E… around the same time and decided I would give them both my best shot for a full year , to see how things went through the seasons. The first year on both were fairly slow - especially at this time of year.
But year on year sales have picked up , customers came back for more , I learned, my pics improved my shop filled etc. Now they contribute quite nicely to my annual income.

Stick with it , keep making and listing- you might aswell have your work on show between fairs rather than sat in a box .

I love the colours of this one too.
Just have fun I have afew of the same sort of thing but different colours or sizes.

The animal magnets are fun. You could do different animals.
Sorry my brain is in over drive.

It would be a shame if you go! I’ve had a shop on Folksy for a few years now and had one sale, but I know that’s because I haven’t got enough different items in my shop and that I sell jewellery mostly and that’s a tough market! Interestingly, my sale was for a handmade card, so I think I’ll expand that part of my business too!

Before you give up have you tried craft fairs? You go to craft fairs and then give your folksy buis card out. I have done the craft fairs and do quite well. That is why i opened another shop.

Hi Orsi. I’m so relieved you haven’t left. I’ve only just discovered your shop, thanks to this thread. Your work (and photos) are brilliant! I’ve featured some of your jewellery on Facebook and Twitter this morning and also added it to some of our gift guides. I hope that helps you get seen a bit more.

Like everyone else says, it does take time, and one of the best things you can do is list as often as possible. If you want to get more visitors to your Folksy shop, and want to help it rank higher on Google, it would be a good idea to link to it on your social channels more (in the profile sections) because those and your website (when you click on a product) all link to another online store, so that will then get the most traffic and be the primary site Google refers people to.

Your other shop also has a lot more listings than your Folksy shop, so customers don’t have as much choice if they buy from here. Have you also made sure the copy in your listing titles and descriptions is different - that can help your shop be discovered too?

Let me know if you need any more tips or advice.

I really hope we can get more people discovering your wonderful work!

Wooow Amanda, you only had 1 sale for a few years and still kept going? That is truly amazing and I should definitely learn from you about patience:)

Hi Astrid,
Yes I started with craft fairs as well a few years ago and I always been doing pretty good, except when there was barely anyone turning up:) This and the push from family and friends kept me going to open my facebook page and from there is started the online sales and spreading into selling platforms, which I though I will be doing good but people probably don’t find me here so that is why I was thinking to maybe leave?!? But I’m glad I have decided to stay now, got a lot of help and nice words

Camilla, firstly I need to say a HUUUUGE THANK you!!! You can’t even imagine how excited and happy I’ve been that you’ve mentioned me! Shared it on my pages and got 91 view on my Folksy shop:D WOOOOW and 4 sale (from the same lady) GIANT WOOOOW!!

Also thank you for the nice words and the helping advices, we done my website a few months ago, don’t think I had Folksy at that point, nor Pinterest and Twitter so just added the extra relevant buttons to my website and that was it, but great that you reminded me. Will load with lot more creation and links to my Folksy:)
The homework is up now and will try to list more items in here as well since I see there is hope for me:)
