Lost connection to pinterest via Folksy

Hi Everyone

Has anyone had problems with their Folksy link for pinterest when listing new items since Folksy did the latest upgrade earlier last week?

My x link is still working but not the pinterest button.
Very annoying because I can’t post all new items as I have been listing them over past three days.

Does anyone know how to fix it, hubby is at a loss and our old age doesn’t extend to the modern I.T social media.

We find trying to do social media very frustrating as we just don’t understand the jargon used. It’s like trying to learn a foreign language for us oldies! Can the new widgets be linked to X and pinterest?

Mines fine - maybe just re add it in your dashboard

Mine is working fine as well, but I clicked on yours and the url it brings up is
https ://uk.pinterest.com/folksy.com/shops/gailpingree/)
you probably need to re enter the link as https ://uk.pinterest.com/gailpingree (without the space character after the https)

If you go to your dashboard and ‘Shop Appearance’ then scroll down to the bit that says ‘Social’ you can check whether your Pinterest link is correct and re-enter it if necessary. Hopefully that’ll fix issues with the Pinterest button :crossed_fingers:

We have tried that. Pinterest account is slow and a nightmare to get into. My link to Folksy is correct but it just refuses to allow me to pin using the Folksy pin symbol. The X symbol is working fine. This all started after Folksy did the new upgrade last week!!!

We have spent over eight hours so far trying to resolve this. I may land up closing my Pinterest account and starting all over again. I have spent months building up my boards. My work was constantly being emailed out by Pinterest and my work shown on their platform pages

I am so upset this has happened and we just cannot but it right.

I’m struggling to find your account on Pinterest so maybe the issue is there. I can find Folksy pins with your items but not your page/boards. What is your Pinterest name?

I’ve just listed something and still had the usual red pin button on the pop up banner. When you list something is the pinterest button there but greyed out (not the usual red) or is it not there at all? Or is the issue with logging in?
Follow up questions:
What browser are you using? Is it up to date?
Do you have any extensions/ plug ins?

The pinterest link on your folksy shop is wrong. This is what you currently have
https ://uk.pinterest.com/folksy.com/shops/DemelzaDesigns/ (I’ve added a space so it shows up)
it should be
https ://uk.pinterest.com/demelzadesigns/ (again I’ve added a space so it shows)

Delete what you currently have entered on Folksy and copy/ paste it from pinterest to make sure you have the right link.

Good spot :ok_hand:

Hi Sasha

Hubby going mad with this. He has done what you say but he’s has altered the pinterest link in Folksy but does not know how to access pinterest to check link is correct or copy and past it.

Hi Sasha

The pinterest button is red, when trying to pin it does then go grey but not linking to pinterest to add to my boards.

I don’t think poor frayed hubby needs to log in to your Pinterest to get the link - I can see your Pinterest with the link that Sasha posted https: //uk.pinterest.com/demelzadesigns/ so that must be the correct one, he just needs to take the space out. I hope you get it working soon!

When you click on the red pinterest button do you get the pop up window that allows you to log in? (or pick a board to pin to if you are already logged in) If not then it sounds like your browser (or possibly anti virus software) is blocking the pop up window.

We keep doing what you are both kindly saying but Folksy will not allow us to save. It just keeps saying ‘invalid no valid pinterest account’.

No Sasha it just goes to a blank pinterest page and we can’t connect to my boards. Everyone was fine until last week!

Try updating Folksy with the link that Mina gave //uk.pinterest.com/gailpingree/ (which I’m thinking might be a newer account based on the recency of when pins were last added) and see if Folksy will let you save that.
If you go to pinterest (https://uk.pinterest.com/) does the page load ok? Do you have the option to log in there?

Just tried, Folksy say ‘pinterest profile is invalid’ and will not save,

Hubby is now throwing large toys out of his pram!

It might just be easier until you sort it out to pin directly from Pinterest using your own photos. You can add all the relevant links and blurb with keywords, tags etc. Pinterest probably prefer that anyway.

I tried replacing my pinterest link in my shop with your link and got the same error message. I’m having no issue pining my just listed items to my boards so I’m thinking that the issue is your pinterest account.
Can you log into your pinterest account via the pinterest home page? https://uk.pinterest.com/

Hi Sasha

Well, we have spent all afternoon on this one. We discovered i had two pinterest accounts. One under Gail Pingree the other under Demelza Designs. We managed to close down one account which was the latter one. We then discovered my firefox connection for my new tablet stopped linking to Pinterest. We then altered everything to Google Chrome and suddenly i could pin from Folksy to pinterest. However, the url link from the remaining pinterest account will not be accepted by Folksy, yet i can still pin. We have double checked that new and current pins are actually being directed by Google Chrome to my Folksy shop without any url link!! How weird is that!!

No doubt those of you who are wizard’s at I.T and social media platforms will have an answer to it!

I would like to thank every member who has desperately being trying to help use both.
