Popping back to share my first ever blog article which we published on the photography business’ website. It occurred to me when writing it that a lot of the things I raised also applied to pricing my jewellery and I hope you’ll find some good points you can use when you’re challenged by people on the price you’re charging
Hi guys, haven’t had chance to pop in for a while. I’ve loved and pinned all your lovely items. Welcome Sam @VioletMaeLucas, you have a lovely shop - hope it goes well for you on Folksy.
I’ve just listed a couple of new cosmetic bags.
Hello East Midlands sellers!
I’m Teresa and I live in Nottingham, I’d love to join in with you all here as I’m going through a VERY dry spell here and I think I need to put some more effort into promoting. I’d love to join your Pinterest board too, my user name is @teabetty on there. I’ll try and find your tweets too!
I make embroidered and crocheted jewellery and home decor. I get easily distracted by making stuff for myself too… Here are a few of my products from my shop. Xxx
Hello Teresa @ShirleyRainbow - love the name of your shop by the way - and welcome to the board.
I think you’ve probably got the hang of it already, so I’ll not bore you with the details I’m now following you on Folksy, Twitter and Pinterest and a Pinterest invite is on its way. I’ve pinned the items you showed us yesterday. Looking forward to seeing your lovely items
Hi Helen @PocketfulCreations - lovely bags, thanks for showing them. I’ve loved, pinned and tweeted them.
Have a fab weekend all
Hi, I’m from ‘even Northamptonshire’. We are the forgotten county that no-one know about, or even where it is. No, it’s not near Southampton nor is it in the North.
My shop has been dormant for ages, but I started to list stuff again last month and I’ve sold two blankets already.
This is the favourite of my current items, but it might change tomorrow.

Hi & welcome to all you new peeps joining! Hi Caroline @Bobblesblankets i know where Northamptonshire is, Hubby travels there alot from Lincs as his office is there, beautiful county!
Sam @VioletMaeLucas don’t be put off by some of us struggling it’s just finding our customer base, some find them more on Etsy others find them on Folksy. Folksy is lovely & friendly as Karen @silvertreejewellerydesign says Etsy forums move far to fast for me but it seems my customer is finding me easier over there. Hi Helen @FitzjohnAndNoble hope your keeping well glad your doing well on the other side too, i’m off to Stamford next Saturday for a little day out…so looking forward to it.
I had another of my illustrations featured in the Folksy Illustration gift guide this morn so very chuffed about that, thought i’d share it too…
Karen those lights & white balance card have been a god send!!! Still working my way through re-shooting but they make a huge difference. Very interesting blog post by the way!

Enjoying the made in East Midlands group, I am based in Northamptonshire and use real leather to produce a range of leather gift bows. New to Folksy so would love to know what people think. Only showing a small range so far, really enjoying trying out some new designs that I will upload when ready.
Hi all, I did my first craft fair for this year yesterday, was pleased to sell few items. It’s always a good feeling when you have a sale. Hears to many more and good luck to any of you who are travelling that road.
Hi Caroline and welcome to the thread.
I’ve always felt Northampton was a bit left on its own, although I’ve also always felt in someway closer to Northampton than Nottingham Do you think the NHS bosses think Northampton is near Southampton and that’s why they send all the children with serious heart problems there instead of to Leicester (which is under threat of closure at the moment despite excellent care - sorry, was that too political
Feel free to post any of your lovely items here and the rest of us will love, pin, tweet, share them etc and if you could do likewise that would be lovely
I’m now following you on Pinterest and have sent you an invite to join the East Midlands thread - I’ve already pinned the lovely blanket you showed us yesterday. If you’ve any questions to ask, help to offer or if you know of any craft events coming up in the region feel free to share.
Karen

The photos are looking great Jac - glad the kit has proved useful and that they’ve got you noticed (as you deserve). Glad you like my first attempt at a blog - guess it means Keith won’t let me off doing another one
A card for your partner
Just been on your website karen @silvertreejewellerydesign It looks great, the incredibly long print is pretty impressive and I did spot keith too!
Lovely to see lots of new people have joined this thread. Warm welcomes to Theresa @ShirleyRainbow Caroline @Bobblesblankets @The leather Bow Co. and sam @Samfire Looking forward to seeing what everyone creates in a mo. I’ve been out of action fighting off the worst cold virus I’ve had since primary school but think I’m through the worst now and getting ready to tackle my folksy listings shortly. Jac @cheekymonkeystudio thumbs up on the gift guide entry, and anytime your in Stamford, have a bit of spare time and you fancy a coffee give me a shout.
Sounds like Etsy was a bit of a nightmare for you Sam, that’s such a shame, as well as Etsy I sell on 3 more marketplace sites-some work much better than others. (haven’t tried ebay though) It’s just so time consuming with all the listings etc…I just want to make things not spend hours listing & photo tweaking. Disney on ice sounds great but I guess the reality isn’t quite as glamourous. I’m going to take the plunge and do a few craft fairs in the spring, need to get out and advertise my wares!
Hi Everyone,
I completely forgot to pop on here and show you make latest items …am busy working hard on my daughters wedding invitations, kissing balls, bouquet, button holes and everything that needs making/doing/paying etc
I completely under estimated how many roses would go on the kissing balls for the little flower girls …ended up being around 85 on each so had to re-order more supplies…doh!
Hope you are all well! x

Hi - pleased you’re enjoying our offerings Please feel free to post your items here as you list them and the rest of us will try and give them a boost by loving, pinning, tweeting and re-sharing them. If you could do the same for us that would be brilliant. There is an East Midlands Pinterest board - which I try and tweet fairly regularly - and if you’d like to pin to it just let my have your Pinterest ‘name’ and I’ll send you an invite.
Glad the wedding preparations are going well Debbs @debbselliman - I can’t wait to see the photos
Glad you like the site Helen @FitzjohnAndNoble - it took Keith 18 months to transfer and reformat all the content so we didn’t loose our search ranking. Luckily it worked and because we’re fully mobile compliant new, we’re number 1 again on our preferred search terms Just got the other 2 sites to sort out now
The picture now sits rolled up in the print room - the museum service and city major both wanted it but neither had a wall long enough. We’ve sold a couple of cut down versions of it - sections of it cropped out - but because of the aspect ratio it’s difficult to scale it down in its full version. We live in hope it’ll see the light of day again
