Missing drafts incorrect listing amounts

Is anyone else having issues with their shop, i have draft listings going missing, incorrect item amounts, postage costs reverting back to what they used to be, i’m 95 percent sure i listed items that have gone missing and i feel like im going insane lol
@folksycontent @dougfolksy not sure which to tag , tell you … feel like im going mad lol

I was listing something yesterday, but got called away, so tried to add it to my drafts, but no draft option, so had to cancel everything that I had already done to wait and come back to it when I had more time, like today.

Its probably just a bug in the system, but annoying isn’t it especially when you have written it all out.

I tend to write the details in pages, then copy and paste. Been caught out too often when the app freezes and have to reboot the phone to clear it. So annoying and such a waste of time.

Same here, I use Pages to write out my content. I have been caught out as well.
For non Mac users Pages is the equivalent of a Word Doc.

Are you saying that you create each listing from new. Rather than copying a similar and simply changing the text etc to be specific to the new listing ?

I’ve only ever created one new listing on Folksy

If it’s not similar to one listed I create a new one yes, just copy and change a few details otherwise

Good idea carol Might try that

But there are always things which are common to all listings or at least another set of listings. Postage for example. I just don’t believe in reinventing the wheel. I do believe in getting something right first time so that it can then be copied for next time. I wrote many computer programs on that basis. Only ever wrote one at each place I worked and then used that as a base to copy for the next. So I have applied that principle here for last 16 years :).

I copy listings if they are similar with a few text changes, otherwise I create new listings using Pages.

As I have a shop elsewhere I use the same Pages document and change it slightly so that it isn’t completely the same content.

When I worked making webpages using old school HTML I used to have one base page and paste in new content.

Thank you :slightly_smiling_face: I did that before many years ago, and yes it was good for the same items, then when I got a new pc transferred work over, the new pc was already set for a newer windows version … Well I’m not good with change lol forget which folder I’ve saved stuff in.

I use the app to start off my new listing, some are copied from one like the new fabric kits but some are completely new. I have had a few occasions when copying a listing where it hasn’t gone to preview and draft but has just changed the original listing and it is so annoying as i have then had to start again but also recorrect the original listing. Most if the time it works fine but because i have been caught out a few times i now just change ir delete one photo then click save to draft then go back and continue editing.
I do so much in the app but check photo positions in my shop draft and list from there.

Hi Debby I mostly use pc when listing, although I do think that things have improved on the phone app, ( not sure if that’s my phone or the app ) I’m not very good now with rembering tech stuff, I’ve been trying to get my head around tiktok for many months and still no idea  oh for the simple and easy lol

Hi I use a tablet for most things, i use an iphone for photographs but the screen’s too small for everything else. Tech isn’t my thing nowadays, everything has changed since I left the office 11 years ago and it doesn’t interest me at all so I’ve probably been left behind with it.
I don’t know anything about tik tok, I decided i instagram and facebook were enough for me  life before all this tech stuff was definitely much easier and less time consuming. My daughter who’s 36 says she’s pleased she was born when she was before the generation of children that sit looking at a screen all day. I would rather just create with my time but have to keep up with so much tech or I will have a lot of bears in my house.

I have Duputytren’s Contracture in my hands. Over use is not advised

Remind me someone please I need to find a new oncologist to radiotherapy my left (dominant) hand as they did to my right hand a few years ago. Magic cure or at least magic remission but left hand is playing up now… I notice most when rolling out pastry
