I’m very new to Folksy having only had my shop open for about a week now. I’m still trying to find my feet and discover how everything works.
My first question to you all would be… Where do you all network and post your shop links for people to see other than your facebook pages, instagram, pinterest and other social media avenues?
I have to admit that I’m a big failure when is comes to advertising myself on my own social networking channels because I find it so difficult trying to come up with new interesting posts that people will and want to engage with.
I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say this but I also have an Etsy shop and there are tons of facebook groups which allow you to post shop links and advertise your products but when I did a search for Folksy groups to promote myself in I literally found about 3 at most.
I’m already putting in the hardwork needed to promote my other store and I want to be able to do the same with my Folksy store but I’m at a loss as to where is best to promote myself.
Post your shop link in your profile bios on Insta and Twitter if you have them. Do a ‘shop now’ link on your Facebook page. If you’re on Insta and Twitter, use hashtags to reach your audience, including #folksyseller and #folksyshop. Tag the official Folksy account, as well, they’re good at sharing and commenting on posts! I know some people have luck with Pinterest as well but haven’t really myself.
There are a couple of FB groups for Folksy. One is the Clubhouse which is for advice etc from other sellers (no promotion allowed but really useful for finding out things like theme’s of the day or asking for help!). The other is the Folksy Shop Group which is for promoting your shop and items.
