New image guidance - make sure your images are under 5MB

In case you haven’t already read this in our Seller Newsletter, we’ve recently been making some changes to our image server.

The main one to note is that we’ve increased the maximum size limit for images to 5MB but they are now being more strictly enforced. So if you try to upload images over 5MB in size, they’ll fail.

We’ve updated the guidance on our knowledge base to reflect the changes, and also added some product shot tips, recommendations and best-practice examples in the guide too. You can see and read it here https://folksy.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/57289-photos-sizing-and-uploading

Have any changes been made to photos on the forum? Previously, I could open an image of one of my products in a new tab and copy and past the url into the reply and the image would appear. Now I’m having to download the image as only a link comes up for the image. I did delete the 0 at the end of the link the other day and it seemed to fix it, but now nothing happens.

I’ve noticed this as well. I’ve got around it by copying the photo and pasting it directly into the text box rather than using the add picture icon or copying url.

If I copy the image then paste it, it is still taking the url which seems to be the problem.

Are you copying the image by clicking on the URL in a new tab as you described in your post above?

If so, then instead of doing that, just right click on the image on your product page and choose Copy Image and then try pasting that.

That’s what I tried. :woman_shrugging: Thanks for taking time to help x

Ah, sorry I wasn’t able to help more. I wonder why this functionality has disappeared? I know there is a way to post a photo so when you click it, it goes to the product page, but haven’t been able to figure out how to do that
