I know the feeling - I’ve had to resort to reading glass over the last couple of years to thread needles:rofl: (getting some varifocals at the weekend so we’ll see how that goes!). On the subject of needle threaders - I can’t use them  don’t know what it is about them but whenever I’ve tried I always give up

Just checked the date and phew it’s still January…just, I’ve been out for a couple of hours today (whoop, doesnt happen often) mainly because I needed to go to the chemist for a hair colour and I fell into Hobbycraft, the only craft shop in the city and being a bit like a child in a toy shop I managed to buy all sorts of random stuff that I didnt even know I needed or wanted. Also placed a couple of online orders this week for more bits that I didn’t need so Yeah I am definately joining in with the 'NO BUY SUPPLIES February". Now I am going to turn off my computer for the next 29 (leap year) days and not leave the village until March (that’s easy as I’m almost a hermit.

I made a decision last year to stop buying craft bits that I don’t need and have done surprisingly well over the past few months…i just seem to have bought more clothes instead

I’m joining in with ā€˜No Buy February’ I think I have enough for the month, unless I get a custom order.

I’m terrible at more yarn just because …

Yay, I’ve made it through the first day!

Instead of thinking what to make next and then deciding that I needed something else to make it with I picked a box with background card, toppers and inserts from my stash and just started working through it.

I’ve made 11 cards and used up 8 A4 sheets so far. And I wasn’t tempted to buy anything

I’ve just bought a bag full of yarny goodness! I do need it though as it’s to make some gifts, so that doesn’t count.
Well done everyone who got through the first day. Keep it up, only 28 more days to go. X

Daughter went to a quilting show at the weekend and bought a pack of fabric scraps as a gift for me. It arrived in the post yesterday, so that was a nice fabric fix and will help see me through!

Sometimes I look at all the fabric in my workroom and I think ā€˜I’ve have hundreds of pounds tied up in here’. Make more and buy less is definitely the way forward for me.

Receiving a gift is different as you did not actually buy it. Donations are fine as well.

Oh no, I might have to slip! I’ve just found an email from Hobbycraft with a Ā£5 off voucher for my birthday last month. It runs out on the 6th of Feb and it would be a shame not to use it.

There’s no minimum spend on the voucher though so if I could just spend exactly Ā£5 it wouldn’t cost me anything - does that count? :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ll let you have that one but only Ā£5!

Ok. I’ll try to buy something boring that I need and know I’ll use up like double sided tape

I did it! I bought 5 sheets of 3d foam pads at £1 each and just smiled and handed over my voucher
