No Buy February (supplies)

Well done! I’m almost done with my first knitted gift, keeping my fingers busy stops me browsing online craft supplies.
How’s everyone else doing? Still on track I hope :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::joy:

Doing okay. Sadly cannot say the same about food
trip to M & S today. Lee came with me so not so dreadful as company but you would not believe what went into the basket. Told him no Waitrose shop this week!

Did you buy the m&s Bramley apple cake. It is the best cake in the world. I cannot leave m&s without one.

So far so good. I have used current stock for crafting.
Actually I did super at Tesco and saved £16.50!
Actually I think that I lost a lot due to not knowing about my vouchers on the Tesco app. I was used to receiving those as a paper voucher, mailed to me. Those stopped, I thought, and only used my, physical card, at checkout.
Just by “accident” I signed in again on the app and saw seven (7) vouchers sitting there that got redeemed at checkout. I wonder how long I missed out on the vouchers, perhaps since 2020!

Thanks @JOYSofGLASS I can’t stop thinking about M&S Bradley apple cake now
Im not supposed to eat cake but if it’s as nice as their Victoria sponge I may just have to go out and get some!

It is SOOOOO good that I sometimes go out of my way to visit M&S just to get one…Tried to make my own but it came nowhere near…

When I worked at a pie factory (yes, really!) sausage rolls were one of the products we made for various brands, every customer’s recipe used vast amounts of lard in their puff pastry - except M&S who specified butter only.

When I worked at ‘food’ places it was only chocolatiers…Cadburys Thorntons…
I had such happy children and relatives at Christmas as I did of course have a staff discount card

PS I am just about to buy some earring hooks… confession time

I used to love Thorntons chocolates. When I started work they used to have a tiny shop on the way to the train station where I’d always be tempted on the way home. They used to pick the individual chocolates with tongs and weigh them for you back then. At the risk of sounding very old, they were also much nicer then than now they’re pre-packaged

On Friday afternoon someone used to walk round the offices with a tray of the latest chocolate. Heaven.

I am popping over for some therapy… I have a confession, I failed, it was day 4 and again on day 6… I could tell you all the excuses why I bought wool felt but the truth is I don’t NEED it (and here comes the excuse…) I found some that I wanted to try so I ordered just one piece, then I found an amazing website specializing in wool felt in varying widths from 1mm to 5mm and I felt I needed to test them all, I have had a stern word with myself and will try again…I can do this  :grinning:

Well what can I say?

Debby your purchase was indulgence not sure about Joy’s.

I am still being good, almost succumbed to some flowers yesterday but held firm. Have a pack due but ordered on the 30th January, so not this month. Have stayed away from the digitals as well. Have downloaded a freebie but that does not count!

Stay strong peeps.

Well I called in at our nearest M&S food hall yesterday, I’d been dreaming of apple cake :cake: but no luck, the staff I spoke to to ask where to look (scoured the shelves and couldn’t see it) told me they had never heard of it :frowning::rofl: on the plus side at least my cardiologist will be happy!
Still not bought any supplies and @JOYSofGLASS I have no words right now for your wilfulness

In my defence I have made some absolutely gorgeous earrings and without the bits I bought they would simply be glass cabochons .

Re the Cake. It looks like this. I suspect the staff were trying to save you from yourself as once you’ve tasted it, you are hooked

The cake is in the fridge as it has fresh cream in the middle @PaintedHorseArt .

I might have to go and treat myself to one as I was very good yesterday. I had an online basket full of so many pastel felt squares. All ice-cream colours. So beautiful. I closed the tab quickly and told myself that if I need to sew I can find the lovely felt I already have. I can understand how you slipped Debby @Bearlescent :slightly_smiling_face:

This is why I need to sort and cull my craft supplies, it’s so much easier to buy new than work out where everything I already have is tucked away!

Those earrings are beautiful Joy @JOYSofGLASS , I think your shopping could probably go down as necessary

At least you and I are still fighting the good fight Caroline @Caroleecrafts . Oh but it’s hard…

Well done Lorraine.

I have so much do not know what I have, cannot find what I have and end up buying more, then would find what I was looking for. In other words, yes, too much.
