Not selling

If you list all the items you have you can always put your shop in to ‘Holiday mode’ when you do a craft fair to avoid the possibility of selling the same thing on Folksy at the same time as a craft fair.

I’m glad you have found this discussion useful Brenda, I have too! I think we all benefit from chatting through it, even those who have been here a long time, it reminds us of what we have tried, what worked and what didn’t.

If you have lots of products, I would get them on here and put your shop in holiday mode for the day when you go to a craft fair. It’s a pain having to edit your shop afterwards, but I tell myself that nothing is going to sell while it’s just sitting in my cupboard.

If you are going to list a lot of items, it’s probably worth having the plus account, you can list and relist as much as you like then. I think it is value for money when compared to stall money (and time!) spent at fairs.

The best 2 months I had on Folksy was when I took part in the daily listing thread, there’s a new one every month. If I had more time I would do it all the time.

When you go to a craft fair you can put your shop on holiday mode or temporary hide the items you are taking to the craft fair. This is done in your dashboard.

If you are sending free postage and adding freebies as extra’s make sure you’ve done our maths and you don’t end up selling at a loss.
