Thanks @AngelaCallanan
Because of my experience with selling on another site, I think I am imaging all sorts of issues if I don’t send a confirmation email with all the information in it.
I’ve had issues with spelling mistakes on personalisation, incorrect delivery addresses, buyers not being aware that my delivery times are 7 days (they can increase to 4 weeks at Xmas) The confirmation emails that I send from the other site have been a god send in helping to iron out issues. I often get customers replying that they’ve made a mistake and can I correct it, and of course I can, as I’ve not made it yet. It’s not so easy to rectify a mistake when I’ve made the item. Hmm, maybe issues like this don’t happen on Folksy and I’m worrying about something that rarely happens.
Thanks for your comment about my shop too ;0)
That makes total sense Ali @millyandpip. You would indeed need to correspond with your customers over their orders. I can see how it must be really time consuming to copy and paste all the info from their order into a new message along with your personal message to them.
Here’s a link to the 'please can we have… ’ feature request list. Might be worth looking to see if this has already been raised, before adding a new one, then you can adding your votes to the request. You get 10 votes to allocate to the suggestions you like best.

Yes all makes sense to me too Ali. Apologies for my former vagueness
I agree it is good to confirm all the details especially if it is non-standard to prevent confusion.
Thanks @HelenCliffordArt That’s really helpful, I’ve voted on some things that I’d like to see :0)
Hi @AngelaCallanan No need to apologise at all. I’m not sure I explained myself very well in the 1st place :0)
Found this thread yesterday as, having made my first sale
I wanted to include a personal message when marking the order as shipped. I opted for emailing the buyer and shortly received a thank you back. Given the nature of our marketplace, I agree with those who think personal communication is important. Thanks for all the helpful comments.
