Do we think it’s time folksy dealt with the main picture also in the thumbnails below? it just looks like one has uploaded the same picture twice to me.
Also, having the same photo front more than one category? WHHHYYY??? My pics are unprofessional enough without seeing the same one side by side at the top of my shop.
Maybe WE could choose which pic to have as our category ‘covershot’ and stop folksy ALWAYS doubling them?
What do we all think?

You can choose which photo to have as your category shot. Just go to shopkeeping and move your chosen image above the current one that’s showing up as your category image.

Hi Lisa, I’m not sure I understood well, but if you are referring to the thumbnails for the different categories we make, then the cover photo of it is always the one that appears first on your shopkeeping list.
You just need to play with order in your shopkeeping (which sometimes can be a pain) so you don’t have the same pic appearing as cover in 2 categories. If you check my shop for example, the tennis card that is in the happy birthday category, is also in the sporting silhouettes category. When I listed it, I went to the shopkeeping, and moved to be above the previous “happy birthday” cover, but under the “sporting silhouettes” cover, so it appears only in one. I have my collections together in the shopkeeping so it’s easy to do. You just need to play with the order, and although it can be a pain, it is something you fix. I’m not sure if there is another way, as I am not a plus member at the moment, but if there is, we will soon find out.

I’ve noticed that when I put a link to my items in a Facebook post they are always grainy and unfocused, despite being fine on the shop page. Is this happening for others?
You might be better uploading the photo to your FB share rather than just adding the photo automatically by the link.
When I try that, I can’t add the link and a photo for some reason. Maybe I need to put the link in manually rather than copy it. Thanks though for the suggestion.
I just copy / pasted the URL for my Sing a Rainbow listing ( Sing a Rainbow Stained Glass Suncatcher Musical... - Folksy)
to a new post on my business FB page and also uploaded the image for it from my laptop.
eg
https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=800399401560266&set=a.539817927618416
I must admit I don’t normally do it this way as I prefer to keep the link to my listings in the comments and not in the main post as FB is less generous with the way it shares posts with links in the main post … but have done this one just to show you.

Is that actually a thing Joy? I mean the bit with how fb distributes the posts with the links in the main body. I’ve always done my posts like that, and never thought anything about it to be honest, as it is very common
Very interesting info you dropped there!

Yes, I can second what Joy said. I always put my links in the comments in my page posts, as having a link in the main post can seriously diminish the reach of the post. You also need to avoid words like shop, sell etc.

Oh great! It was giving me a headache before I knew that anyway, it never gets better!

thanks I’ll try that. I wondered if it was because I had one thing in two categories? x
Thanks for that joy, i will try putting the link in comments instead.

I think foksy must compress them, coz mine look grainy on here and not when I look at them in my own files. thought I was needing a new script!
Thanks , I thought it was me too, but it works fine on Instagram posts.
