Pinterest problem with old pins

When I create a new Folksy listing, or renew an old one, immediately the listing is “live” I have a banner across the top of the item page with share links to social media platforms. This is the way I create a pin onto Pinterest which creates a product pin with all the fields filled in behind the scenes, and it links back to the listing on Folksy should anyone click on it. I try to do this every time now, but previously it was a bit random.

So far so good.

Today I’m busy restocking my Folksy shop with seasonal items such as gloves and Christmas baubles, and checking on Pinterest whether a pin already exists. Some but not all of my pins from around this time last year have got the postage value where the item price should be! For example, a £28 pair of gloves can apparently be bought for £3.95

New pins created today are ok, this just seems to be historical. So now I’m going through checking, and if necessary deleting the old misleading pins. Some of them have had hundreds of views too.

Apologies if you all knew about this and it’s just me not paying attention. Anyone with nothing else to do on a wet Friday afternoon, have a quick look at your pins!

As far as I am aware once a Folksy listing is archived (4 months from listing) the price is no longer shown. The postage price is.
So if you are looking at a pin from a year ago the price will not be there. I just looked at one of yours (unavailable ) and sure enough there is a postage price but no listing price.
eg Button mug cosy handknit British wool purple lilac - Folksy
Then at another which is in stock and price and postage are there.

Does that explain it. As far also as i am aware Pinterest does not itself show any pricing it just gives the link back to the site you posted from in this case your folksy shop.

I’ve not seen the banner to share on socials I will have a look for that as it would make my life so much easier, I spend ages trying to get my images on socials and have to individually click on every photo I take and download it otherwise they arn’t picked up from my gallery.

DOes it only show when adding a new listing as I can’t see anything on mine. ?

Just after you submit new listing before you do anything else . I get an X and a Pin button.

Thank you Joy, I relistrd some items to try it, it came up on 2 of them but not the others for some reason but will definitely make sharing youPinterest easier, Pity it doesn’t work for Instagram.

Only works on newly listed. Not if you just relist.
Not sure that Pinterest views help, don’t believe many convert to sales especially as there can be so many links to very old pieces.
I do use the X link quite often…just because I can and I do pin new pieces to Pinterest as it gives a good catalogue of my stuff.

If only it were that simple! I have pins of tea cosies that expired in 2023 that are correctly showing the price on the pin. Some old pins say “see price on site”, which at least doesn’t confuse the customer. I think whatever the problem was mapping the fields between Folksy and Pinterest has long since been fixed, but there are some pins with the wrong price details that I didn’t notice.

Product pins show the price top left of image on the “All pins” screen, or underneath the title when clicked from a board.

The banner shows only for a short time after item creation/renewal - about 2 minutes I think. Apparently the banner doesn’t come up at all if the system is very busy. Otherwise yes it appears for new or renewed or relisted, but only if you renew/relist one item not multiple items at once.

Looking on my phone just now I see what you mean. On laptop yesterday and get a different view.

Ist photo show price and it is indeed the postage.

2nd days see price in site.

And to confuse further.

This shows a price and it is the listing price not the postage .

However I will not let it worry me as doubt it makes any difference to my actual sales

PS just looked again on my laptop and it is of course the same.. i didnt scroll down far enough and that white horse is showing my postage price of about a year ago
