For your awareness, Royal Mail staff will be taking strike action on the following dates:
26 and 31 August 2022
8 and 9 September 2022
Explanation from Royal Mail:
The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has called on its members who collect, sort and deliver parcels and letters to take strike action on 26 and 31 August and the 8 and 9 September 2022.
On days when strike action is taking place:
We (Royal Mail) will deliver as many Special Delivery and Tracked24 parcels as possible
We (Royal Mail) will prioritise the delivery of COVID test kits and medical prescriptions wherever possible
We (Royal Mail) will not be delivering letters (with the exception of Special Delivery)

Weirdly, an item I sent to a customer on Thursday - large letter, second class - has arrived this morning. I was expecting it to be delayed by at least a day.
To be honest it made me double check, which was a good reminder! I think they are intending to continue doing single days here and there, so that they make a point, but also so that they don’t bring the whole system to a standstill. Thanks for flagging it up Sarah.
