Pricing carefully

Morning all, i put some blank cards on my page yesterday, but charging postage is a problem, the cards are £1.25, but postage is £1.65 while second class is 85p, how do i make the cards more available without charging people too much

It’s a tough call these days with all the postal increases, particularly for low-ticket items. You could offer them in packs of 3 or 5 maybe? Or set the ‘additonal item’ postage to zero and make a point of mentioning in item descriptions, social media posts, etc. that you offer combined postage.

Not an answer to you question Deborah but just to let you know that on the cat card description you have blamk card instead of blank card :slightly_smiling_face:

I absolutely feel your pain as I make a lot of cards and the postage is a huge issue. I send second class to try and keep the cost down but it’s not ideal. 6 x 6 cards are classed as large letter which pushes the cost up to £1.55 second class and if a customer adds another card or two this then pushes the postage into the next weight bracket £1.90 or £2.30. Also you pay commission through PayPal and stripe (not folksy) on postage. I’ve faffed around with this for ages and have plumped for 80p for small cards and £1.65 for larger ones with 40p extra for each additional card. I have offered free additional postage in the past but I had one customer who ordered 10 cards which were a small parcel cost!
Also if a customer pays too much postage I refund the difference.
Sorry to waffle on but it’s such a huge issue!

Hi Deborah, I just had a look at (Blank card with print of an original painting c... - Folksy) (very pretty) and at the moment the postage is set at zero. I know you say in the listing that there will be a charge of 85p for a single card, but at the moment they wouldn’t be charged any postage and you may well run into problems adding that on afterwards. As you have a plus account, I think you would be best making two listings for each design. One for a single card with the postage added on and one for a pack of 5 with free postage. In the descriptions, add ‘also available to purchase as a single card’ or ‘also available in packs of 5 with free postage’ as appropriate.
