Hello! I’ve noticed that my Profile info/description/about me section hasn’t been updated to what I changed it to. My changes are there when i go to edit, but not when save changes. What can I do? Thanks, Frances
Ah, I think that might be because there are two similar places to enter that information, only one of which is actually used…
The one you want is the About me box on the About page under Shop Settings the menu on your dashboard.
There is also a box called ‘your biography’ which may have been used at one time but no longer is, which is on the Your Profile link under Your Account further down on the side menu.
I know this because I’d filled them both in to begin with and could never find which one to update when I needed to. Now I leave ‘your biography’ blank.

The bit under ‘your profile’ on dashboard is still used, but not in a place many people will see. It’s not information for your shop, but the buyer side of your account (all the links under the ‘your account’ heading on dashboard are for the buyer side, and all the shop bits are under ‘shop settings’). Like Helen says, ‘about’ is the best place to put this in your shop, and there’s also the ‘buying from me’ section on the ‘shop appearance’ page.
One place people might see the bit from ‘your profile’ is if you favourite someone’s shop/item. If you go to ‘shop activity’ and see “username followed your shop” or “username favourited item”, if you click on the username, it shows the information from their ‘your profile’ page.
You can check your own by copying this link and changing the last bit to your own username - folksy.com/users/yourusernamehere
