Your profile Biography (Meet the Maker ) on Folksy

I just discovered something about our shops i was totally unaware of before and i have had a shop here since 9/4/2009.

If you favourite something and the seller of that item clicks your name… they will be presented with the Biography you set up on your profile page… Which as far as i am aware appears nowhere else, ever.
According to mine i have sold 4481 items though my shop front says 4404
(must have cancelled the other 77 over the 16 years.)

I have not seen that text I put againt my profile for years. Probably could do with a bit of an update. Took me a minute to find out where it was.
Only noticed as a seller had favourited something and i clicked their name wondering who they were and it came up with an odd screen and the details on it were not on the actual shop when i clicked through to that.

Did everyone else know this or has nobody, like me, ever bothered before to clich the sellers name on their activitiy list and noticed it is not the shop front you expected to appear ?
Just off to review my own text.

PS If you want to check your own then like something of your own and find your like in your activity list.

PPS I am not referring to either the Buying from me bit of blurb at the top of your shop nor the About me at the bottom (which has a click through from the top too).
I am not aware of any other way that it is visible.

Do you mean Meet the Maker profile Joy? I updated mine last year when I was updating all my shop info - I found it easily enough in dashboard, - but you are right, but it isn’t available from my shop front for customers to find. But it can be followed from the activity link.
Curious. Is it an old feature that’s been dropped, but not removed from dashboard?

Screenshot of mine so people can see what it looks like.

Actually I need to update again, as I don’t post to NI anymore :face_with_peeking_eye:

Yes Meet the Maker. I think it must be a left over from a previous existence. Handy that i had noted my shop opening date… Nothing apart from that which is in there and not in my about me but it does confirm I’ve been hrere since April 2009 and absolute sales figure including calcellations.

Shocking to see a 16 year sales figure which equates to 23+ per month and compare it with the grand total of 17 this year to date. Says it all really. The Decline and Fall of a Folksy shop :sob:

Interesting! I had forgotten all about that, but I obviously filled it in when setting up the shop.

Dont know why mine says 7 sales, when I have only made 2. No cancellations or anything like that.

It’s a nice personal touch, reading a little more about the seller.

But you only see it if they favourite something if yours so customers don’t see it. Pretty well repeated elsewhere I think.

I’m only seeing it for some people - presumably those who filled the section in when they set up their shop. Apparently I didn’t!
I quite often click on the people who have favourited things, and I have never seen this before.
Where in your dashboard is it?

It is under the heading " Your Account". At the bottom of Dashboard page, on my phone.

I used to keep a record when I sold anything and when I was sorting out the other day I found an A4 file with a record for each month. Like you, I was amazed to see I was selling at least 6 or 7 items every month but lucky to sell 10 now over a whole year!

I keep a spread sheet, new each year, split by month and itemising every single thing i have sold, how much for, when, where commission paid etc etc . Takes me 15 mins each month and is invaluable. Excel is incredibly good at analysing your data if you set it up right in the first place
Just had a sale…
Not on Folksy  in fact only popped on here to remove from stock

Congratulations on the sale! It gives you a little leap of happiness when it does happen, doesn’t it?:slightly_smiling_face:

I have frequent sales in my other shops. One on Sunday, double total on here for April. And that was just one. But yes every sale is precious and my customers are wonderful.

Your work is so lovely. Good luck for future sales!
