Really poor reach/no sales

thanks everyone!

Kim, i feel exactly the same as you - i was promoting on loads of social network sites throughout the day only for it to amount to nothing. Since i stopped actively posting on the sites around a month and a half ago, i had a few sales! As you say, it is so disheartening, not to mention time consuming to post all the time with no results. From now on, i am only going to post every few days or so, and only a couple of posts at this time too - it’s hard work trying to post all the time and as you get no results i do feel like what’s the point?!

Thank you Sally. I have to admit, Twitter has always been a bit of a mystery to me, and it’s only been this last couple of months that I have really concentrated on using it. I add the Crafthour, Craftflash, FolksyHour hashtags during their ‘hours’ etc., but have never tried other hashtags. I will certainly give it a try…it never occurred to me.
As for the Kitty key rings…I do intend to do more colours. I have some black and white leatherette which I will do, and will look at other colours when pennies allow… I felt they would be ideal little gifts and was just testing with one to start with…
Thanks for taking the time to post advice, it is much appreciated…

I’m not sure why sales have gone so low but I’m definitely adding my folksy page to everything , Facebook , my fliers , my cards, intagram, Twitter, and still no sales … I was told that it helps if we like each other’s work it ups there sales ,so I liked everyone’s items that’s on this post but no one really returned the favour, if we all help each other it might help. Maybe advertise our fav item on folksy made by someone else , this would give our friends on Facebook the chance to see something new and help each other x

There is a Folksy network page that does this, though I don’t see huge amounts in my feed?

Yes @steamstress I have this too. I merrily pin and love and share other people’s work, and altho one or two kind souls return the favour, it certainly isn’t a cascade of favours!

Yeah that’s what I’ve found , it never seems to return likes , I’ve liked your lovely items and let’s hope we can start our own flow of likes on here somehow … X

I have just stared a month ago I listed a few items.I could list a lot more, but there is no point as I have 0 views every day.
Soo disapointed!!
I think I will just pay my fees and leave as nobody even sees the items I have made.I crochet knit and sew almost every day.

If you go on the daily listings thread or the Craftjuice thread people there are pretty good at returning likes. I’m not sure it does any good, but it doesn’t hurt to try.

Thank you for the help. I will try this. I do feel there must be something I need to do to help people to see my items. I do love Folksy and would love to be able to stay.

Are you active on social media @mcmichaelolive ? I noticed that you don’t have any social media buttons linked to your Folksy shop. Being active on social media can really help to drive people to your shop.

Hi @mcmichaelolive you have some pretty things, but I think you need to look at your tags, they all seem to be in one tag, and you can use up to 15. That might help you be found, and maybe a bit more detail about your items, what the yarn is etc.
Keep trying, you have some lovely things.

There are quite a few threads which help to promote each other - ie favourite something from the shop above, Pin something from the shop above, Craftjuice thread etc. I have found though that getting people to the website seems pretty difficult though, no matter how much we promote. The only thing I would say though, is that I think the low views and sales are down to more than just visitors not finding us. I have had 3 notifications this week from sellers on the other side basically saying they are closing their shops due to lack of diminishing sales so its not just on here things are slow.

It’s always slow during the summer, people have their children off school or go away and so on. It’ll pick up next month and by the beginning of October your Christmas sales begin and you’ll remember August fondly as the last time you had a bit of spare time :grinning: hang on in there it does get better xx

Are the sellers from UK? As over there it seems U.S. sellers do well, generally. @SamsGemstoneJewellery

Thank you for the help. I went into each item and added a few more tags.

Thank you. I hope you are right. Everyone is so helpful that I think I will just be patient and add a few more items. I have crocheted some beautiful ladies hats and co-ordinating scarves. They would make beautiful Christmas gifs

It really does just take time, I have been doing this full for years with my other shop @ShropshireNaturalProducts and have finally built up enough business to pay myself minimum wage  It’s hard work but definitely worth it. Your shop is lovely and I’ve pinned some of your items to the support small business pinterest board

Hopefully that’ll help you get some views
