The new service is only viable for regular postage. I always send overseas tracked and that has to go to a post office. I think , like all the other services, this will have it’s place but not suit everyone.

@WestcountryCreations I’ve sent 4 international tracked parcels through the new parcel collection service (USA x 2, Australia and Netherlands) - they scan your parcels upon collection and if you are tracking them via the royal mail app, it updates the system automatically and says that the parcel has been collected. x

Oh that’s great, thanks they didn’t make that clear where I read it. What about the tracking code? I get it on a receipt atm.
I will still use my village PO when they re-open because I want to support them but may well use this as well. Shame it’s not a bit less per parcel as we get post everyday here anyway. Hey ho.

When I print my labels through Click and drop - the tracking code is printed on the front as a barcode. To track it on the app, you scan the barcode in through your phones camera.
When you arrange a collection, you just type in the number on the barcode.
If you are sending a non tracked parcel, there is a indicia number (above the square patterened QR code) and use that instead of the tracking number.

Yes the next working day. Had one collected yesterday, he scans the bar code and you then get an email to confirm collection. Worth the 72p any day.

I have been asking for this service for years…all I need now is for my lovely postie to collect letters as it is a steep nasty walk to the postbox and with my arthritis I really struggle with it.x
My Postie has taken letters for me Brenda to save a trip to the box. We have the same chap every day so we know him well. If yours is approachable ask him.
