Why are search results on Folksy so bad. I did a search on Amethyst jewellery and got very few Amethyst results and loads of other stones including whole batches from 1 shop. How are customers supposed to find the goods they are looking for, it’s not as though there are thousands of each product available.
What exactly did you type in the search box? I just did a search for ‘amethyst jewellery’ and I got six pages (there are probably more but I got tired of scrolling lol) of exactly that - jewellery in which the stone was all or mainly amethyst. It was only a quick scan but it looked like a good mixture of shops. (Folksy have made improvements recently to address the issue of ‘clumping’.) If I were a customer looking for amethyst jewellery I’d be pretty happy with that
Like looney spoons I just ran a search for ‘amethyst jewellery’ and got pages of results where the main stone was amethyst from a wide selection of shops. I’m wondering if your search term got caught out by the lag in typing in the search box and the search box responding (sometimes it can loose the first few characters).
Thanks for the tip Sasha, it does indeed produce more if I type mega quick, it came up before I had even finished typing. Not very helpful for customers though, maybe Folksy could slow it down a bit.
It gets me every time and I know about it.
Maybe the search bar needs a warning. Please type slowly.
